confused_2008 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I met a girl while I was on my spring break and only had time to go out on one date with her before I had to go back to school 8 hours away. It went good and we've kept in touch so far by talking on the phone a couple times a week, hopefully with the intention of getting out again when I get home in a month. I am looking for advice on how keep some interest alive between the two of us. I think she seems like a great girl but I've never been in a situation like this before. I've been taking all the initiative so far, an am having a hard time gauging her interest level. I'm going to keep assuming she's interested, though, because she's taking my calls and not in a hurry to get off the phone. I know even I'm getting a little bored with the just the phone calls, but don't know what else to do. I've never really used email in a dating situation and neither of us really text much. I know it would be better if we were seeing each other in person, but that doesn't work right now.
EllieBean Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Talking on Skype instead of on the phone would be better, because then you can do other things too. Watch movies or tv shows together while chatting, play online games together, share online news articles you want to discuss, share photos and videos, etc. You could also read a book together, taking turns to read out loud. It's also nice to send e-cards and emails, or texts to say you're thinking of her, and you could also send parcels in the mail. Try to make firm plans to see each other again, and count down to your next date. Hope it works out for you
