kdark Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 How would you feel about your girlfriend bringing you flowers while you were working?
carhill Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 She'd be one very substantial step closer to wife material
WorriedOne Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 How would you feel about your girlfriend bringing you flowers while you were working? Some guys might think flowers would be a little feminine, candy might be more my speed. But regardless it is a very sweet gesture and I am sure he would be flattered!
Author kdark Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 She'd be one very substantial step closer to wife material I'm thinking the same thing... But I also can't help feel a little bit inadequate because I'm the one who's supposed to be doing that...
carhill Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 You do what you do and, if she loves you, it will be well-received. Compatibility
Author kdark Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 You do what you do and, if she loves you, it will be well-received. Compatibility Well it's still really early. 2 weeks. She's said she is used to being the one who does the pursuing, so I know she means very well by doing it. So I'll just put my irrational male feelings aside and just appreciate it for what it is, an extremely nice gesture.
carhill Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Remember, flowers are gestures; cards are gestures; words are gestures; hugs are gestures; kisses are gestures. They're all little relevant actions which build up rapport and love. Accepting each other's love styles is an important part of compatibility.
runner Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 How would you feel about your girlfriend bringing you flowers while you were working? if she did, i would feel like getting a bottle of wine on the way home and cooking dinner
MN randomguy Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Depends on his work situation. The group of mechanics I used to work with, I'd be razzed forever. The 2 years when most of my co-workers were middle -aged women, it'd be OK.
BobSacamento Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Personally I would hate it. It's probably because I despise attention and at work that's what that would cause. Now if they were sent to my apartment that would be a totally different story.
phillipreed678 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Hmmm...I don't know how i would react, i gotta be there
voldigicam Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I'd touch up my shaving above and below the waist, take her something nice, and make sure I had 3 hours free.
westernxer Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Which part? Having a girls send flowers to me at work. I'd probably save face by eating them, or pricking my tongue with the thorns (provided they were roses). Then I would castrate myself before jumping out the window onto the concrete five hundred feet below. Or else I'd keep my mouth shut, find the hottest co-worker in the building, and place them on her desk with a coquettish grin. Then I'd continue working as if nothing happened.
Awesome84 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 For me... I'd have to depend on if I was already in a serious relationship with him to do something like that. And even then... it might not be flowers. I'm attracted to 'Alpha Males' so i'd surprise him with food or something. Alpha Males like to be fed.
Enema Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I'd think she hadn't been paying attention during our dates and doesn't know what kind of guy I am. I would never want flowers as a gift, regardless of the intention behind it.
Isolde Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Like what has been said here, flowers are feminine. Bring him something a guy would like (of course you probably can be more specific), try bringing him something electronic that he has wanted for a while (like an ipod, etc). Are you serious? An Ipod is really out of most people's price range for a simple gift. The whole thing about flowers is they are relatively inexpensive and simple, not just another commercialized "product."

The whole thing about flowers is they are relatively inexpensive and simple, not just another commercialized "product." Not to mention you can only give an ipod once...they aren't like those damn dolls women used to collect years ago....Guys don't collect electronics in different colors for the ****s and giggles. So unless you continually gave him gifts of ipods with greater and greater power you wouldn't be able to keep it up. Remember, dating isn't just about "getting to get laid" or anything, it's about your personal habits. Don't be someone you can't be later on.
GorillaTheater Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I think it'd be pretty cool to get flowers at work. I'd get a hard time about it from the folks I work with for awhile, but what the hell. I actually got flowers once, but it was in High School. I was surprised, but more thrilled than I let on. The girl who got them for me is now a psychologist/marriage counselor up in Michigan, and I bet she's damn good at what she does.

Ross PK Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I'd find it a bit strange that she gave me flowers. It's not really the kind of gift you get for a guy. Some cans of beer would be more appropriate, say it with love.
BCCA Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Its a sweet gesutre. Sure, I would rather walk home and find her in a nightie ready to go, but I think its still flattering
