I completely disagree. A BS gets a lifetime of emotional pain and torment... saying "just get over it" is ludicrous.

I agree. Those that say "just get over it" are showing the black heart and why they are cheaters in the first place.

If I decided to stay with someone that cheated, and was struggling with the pain, and they told me to "just get over it"....I'd open the door and say, "get the #$%# out and never come back". For a WS to tell someone they caused pain to GOI is ridiculous. That kind of person doesn't deserve a 2nd chance.

It's crazy and very self centered to even suggest that.

read other posts and consider the source:rolleyes:

If a WS is not willing to go through hell and back to make the marriage work, just pack the friggin bags and go!

I agree. They put the BS through hell and back, but seem to want to skate with no real consequences.

I disagree. EVERYTHING is a choice. If a BS chooses to stay in the pit of pain and bitterness---that is HIS/HER choice. Not to say that the pain and anguish a BS feels is not justified---it is more than justified, in fact it IS normal...but to STAY in that state of being...well...that is a choice. Anybody who is in a painful situation (be it BS or WS) has a duty to herself/himself to make himself/herself whole again...

Granted, the affair was not the BS's choice, still what he/she does after D-day is a PERSONAL CHOICE.

Many BSs here will tell you they no longer are in pain or are bitter...good choice, right?

I agree. Why choose to stay, if one is unwilling to do what it takes. At the same token, why choose to stay in the marriage if one(BS) is not willing to get over the pain?

Obviously, telling a BS to "just get over it" will not cut it. But really at some point one MUST get over it, don't you think? What kind of life would one live if there is constant pain and bitterness? I think for one's sake--letting go of pain and bitterness is a healthier choice-

And Dexter, you are absolutely within your right, if the WS says that("just get over it"), and your response is to say "get the #$%# out and never come back". You choose to respond that way and the WS will have to deal with that.
