Consquential_Angel Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Hi, I'm new here A little bit of background info...I'm a 32 year old mum of two and single. I'd like to think I am pretty intelligent and not silly when it comes to relationships etc. I have been talking to a guy online for just over a year. We started talking after meeting on a forum. We get on well and always had a good laugh and a joke. Over a few months we got talking about more personal things, it turns out we've had quite a similar upbringing etc. He confided in me a few things about himself and I felt glad that he could open up to me. He's said a few times he thinks we would understand each other (as a couple). He's single. Because of the distance between us, our friendship is purely an online one. I think alot about him and do find him attractive. My 'problem' is I really don't know how he feels. Since he opened up to me he seemed to withdraw and didnt talk as openly. From time to time he does talk more openly about himself but its always on his terms. I know he gets fed up and down over various things so never push personal subjects and leave it to him to bring it up. Some days he acts totally disinterested and all 'manly' then at other times he shows a sensitive side. He talks about meeting one day then at other times just laughs it off as a joke. I just can't suss him out. I arent even bothered about us having a relationship- just a friendship but can't understand how he can go from being totally open to closing off. Is he just insecure and feels vulnerable or is he just past the point of wanting any form of friendship?? Why do men go hot and cold?.
