So...I'm curious. How did you propose to your wife? How were you proposed to? Share your stories here! The good...the bad...the ugly! I want to know it all! Perhaps other guys on this thread can get some cool ideas!

Was your hubby poetic? Or did you simply ask her while you were in your underwear one night in front of the game?

Spare no details! :p

Wow! Were you expecting to be proposed to? A destination proposal, that's pretty cool!

I met my BF 2 yrs ago when I lived in the UK so we had a normal relationship for a year than had to return to Canada because my visa expired. At Christmas, I went back there for a 3 month extended visit again because we'd done the LD thing for nearly a year and it's very difficult. The week before I was due to return to Canada, we spent a few days up in the highlands in Scotland. And we drove to the most northerly tip (John O'Groats for those who know the UK) and he proposed to me right on the coast, overlooking the Orkney Islands. It was freezing and drizzly so it was a quick proposal and he did the real mushy stuff in the car when we got back in. I was shocked! Took me ages (it felt like) to say yes! :bunny:

My fiance proposed to me one evening at home, while I was doing laundry in my pajamas! lol But we had already talked about getting married for a long time, and went ring shopping so I could pick out what I liked. If he had taken me somewhere romantic, I probably would've seen it coming!

He proposed on one knee, at a restaurant, on Valentine's Day!

I would assume they both sat down and had a talk about marriage in advance to proposing and not the ''all of the sudden'' thing. Meaning the both of them have an idea of marriage so then when proposing then it makes it easy.

Now if marriage was never talk about and all of the sudden out of nowhere you're getting proposed then not very suggestive as you don't know the person's present opinion. Plus the guy would have to know the girl's likes as well as dislikes. In my case he knows very well I don't like wearing jewels nor plus hardly wear make-up so he knows a ring is a no-no as I find it annoying.

samsung, I've never had a proposal that was expected. While this works for many people and is the most pragmatic/practical approach, it's kind of clinical.
