mylovegrowsdeeper Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Well, we are finally just a few measley months from him being able to leave his country and relocate to mine. We will be getting married, and I guess this is where the for better or worse part comes in. Well, I'm completely comitted and love him deeply and leaving is NOT an option. He's working very hard and stressing himself out as am I, both of us just trying to give the other "the world". I guess this is where the stress and anxiety of LDR is taking place, I would like some advice if anyone has some on combatting that and not letting it take hold of my thoughts. We are going through a rough period right now and I don't know, I'm attributing it to normal human factors i.e distance, and the pressures of "it's finally going to happen in just a few months".
JLee26 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 hold tight, remember the good, the reason for the love, the shortness of the time, and most of all find some time to pray, meditiate, sing, or whatever helps you find your center.
Island Girl Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I've been through this three times. The first time when I was going there to marry him. The second time when we were planning a trip to Fiji to deal with all of the immigration paperwork. And now, the second time dealing with the immigration paperwork and his interview (TODAY). In each of these cases the stress caused us to be short with each other a lot and extremely stressed with anxiety to boot. We got through it with some great conversations, some apologies, and also the constant reassurances that NOTHING on either side had changed. These reassurances were not given at times when we were short with each other but usually the next time or soon thereafter. It happens. For us now, we know it does, and we take it in stride as much as possible. Congratulations that you are finally so near your goal!!
