I'll be thinking about you tomorrow, IG... just as I did when I saw the news a few weeks ago about where your H is.

This is very exciting! I'm sure it will go well. :bunny:

Thank you!

I think we ALL deserve it!!

But now is finally my time! Well, at least my time for the steps to finally be done...!

I am getting some kind of weird jittery feeling.

The excitement is being replaced and I can't stop it.

If it keeps going like this it feels like I won't be able to make it through the next few hours without hospitalization! Yikes!!

HE'S UP!!!

And was in the shower when I called.

I said "don't be nervous honey" to which he replied "I YAM!" awwww.

Pardon my posting again.

I just don't know what else to do with myself!

Oh!

And BTW -- I have been so befuddled I kept saying the interview is 12:30pm PST.

It is actually 1:30pm PST. I just realized I have to wait an additional hour.

And then there may be additional time that they'll make him wait and then approximately an hour for the interview.

Ugh.

It'll be okay, sweetie. I promise it will. When I get nervous I start shaking like I'm shivering and I can't walk, can't do anything but sit there. Usually my teeth start chattering too, and I usually DO get very cold. I usually just sit there and try and breathe and find a blanket. Just stay calm and take a hot shower if you start to get too nervous. That always helps me. Just sit there in the hot water and you'll feel much much better and calm.

Great idea.

I have been feeling chilly and my feet are freezing!

A hot bath sounds great...after I know he is there...

thanks. *sigh*

OKAY!!

He is there and has ALL of his documentation.

He sounded calm. And he said he's feeling fine now not so nervous. :)

He made sure to say, "don't forget to call me in a little while" -- like I COULD. lol

In just a few hours I'll call and find out what has happened.

YAY!

Got my fingers (and everything else possible) crossed for you IG.

Can't even begin to imagine what it's like being separated from the one you love for 7 years ..... wow, you have some staying power!

I really wish you all the best. It has to work out for you ..... it just has to.

Gosh I'm so nervous for you! It's a good thing that he's so calm right now, cause I'd probably be freaked plum out!(Yes I'm country, and yes I said 'plum out!') I just know that everything is going to go well for him! I'm crossing my fingers and toes, and as soon as my fiance gets out of the shower I'm taking control of his fingers and toes as well to make him cross them(since he seemingly found this forum the other day haha)! We're rooting for you!

Thank you LonelyTiger and Rollercoasterr (and everyone else out there rooting for us!)!

So it is an hour and a half past his interview time.

The interview takes give or take an hour.

BUT from what I have read in the immigration forums it is common that they make the interviewees wait for sometimes 4 or 5 hours.

So I do not know when I should CALL!

I do not want to call when he is in there.

But DAYUM! I am just going crazy wanting to know what is happening...or happened!

I think it's time for you to go and take that hot bath now. :) Keep those nerves down and be stress free.

Sometimes, as weird as it sounds, my fiance will know when I'm stressing out about something and instinctively call or get a hold of me. It's the same with him. I'll get this overwhelming feeling like I'm panicking and that there's something wrong with him and I have to get a hold of him NOW. So on the off chance that you all have that little connection and you do or don't know about it, try and calllmmmmmmm yourself. Don't want him going into a frenzy right there in the interviewers office now do ya? :bunny:

Really really good point.

We are like that too a lot. Breathe in breathe out breathe in breathe out. Okay. Whew.

I'm going to go run my bath.

Oh Island Girl I can't wait to hear all about it and how it went!!! Hang in there as it wont be long now and you will finally be able to relax!!! You have been on my mind all day! Hope you are enjoying your bath!!!:):):)

Hopefully he's out of his interview now. That would be the best prognosis. And I pray he's got good news!

Oh this is like watching a thriller or something. Just checking in for an update. Still praying for you.

I am thinking the earliest I should call is 1:00pm Fiji time.

The original appointment time was 8:30am - so that would be 4 1/2 hours...

But that may be too little time - I don't want to call when he is in the interview!

Okay I just spoke with him.

The embassy said they need 3 things -

His original paperwork when he left here (we were informed we didn't need to bring that. That they would get it not us.).

Police record from Australia because the one they have is too old (we just submitted a new one a couple months ago and they have it in the file but they are saying they don't).

And a copy of my divorce decree (which they also have a copy of but they are saying they don't).

And they asked him to come back at 2:00pm. - ?

Whether they thought he could get these things that fast I don't know. They told him to come back at 2pm and he didn't ask any questions.

GAWDAMNIT

My lawyers office is now closed. They have the copies of my paperwork --- at least the last two things requested.

I am coming unglued right now.

IG do you have digital copies of the paperwork yourself? Are you able to email the US embassy in Fiji with them or at the very least email them with what they should be looking for so they can check their stuff again?

Are you able to call the US embassy and talk them through the paperwork they have got so they can find the stuff they need? I can't imagine that you would have left the stuff out, you have been so pro-active and organised over this.

Red tape + government departments = MAJOR headache. My H has just been through hoops with getting his payscale on the right one, and its been held up all because ONE word was typed wrong in the letter from his last employer.:rolleyes:

I informed him of what they have so he'll be able to have them look in their file at least.

The lawyer has the copies to send. They open bright and early tomorrow and if I can get a fax number for them (if they'll accept a fax) then it will be waiting for them before they open at 1pm.

They know exactly what they are looking for. I do too. It just so happens that I do not have copies myself here at home.

No. There really is no communication by phone - they STRONGLY discourage it. E-mail for questions but he'll ask those in person when he gets there, well, he returns at 2pm and that is in 20 minutes.

He also has the reference number for the case file from 2006 where I was informed by the embassy that he did not need to bring the paperwork he left with. That they could get copies of that.

I know. I am just sick right now.

No sleep at all since yesterday morning. Stomach in knots and haven't eaten.

I hired an attorney so that this wouldn't happen. I guess there are no guarantees EVER. :eek:__:mad:__:mad:__:mad:
