The crowd inside was NOT my scene, and the bartender I had ordered a drink from realized that. She said "I've never seen you here; doesn't look like your scene." I asked her how she figured, and she said "You dress a lot better than the other guys." We proceeded to chat throughout the next couple of hours, with her leaving to assist other customers throughout. Whenever she had helped another customer, she'd check back in with me, and we had fun making fun of the drunk crowd. She mentioned she was auditioning for a play, and said if she got the role she'd quit the bartender job, saying "But you can come see me there instead." At the end of the night, I asked for her number and she said "I only give one number a night....3. You'll have to come back next time I'm here to get the next number." I asked her when her next night was, and she said "I only work once a week, you'll have to come back for 6 more weeks!" She smiled, I laughed and we shook hands. I told her I'd see her next week. What do you think???
Sara Sissi Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 She sounds witty ...could be a way of seeig how interested you are in her before she makes up her mind about showing that she likes you...or else she could be trying to boost her confidence and play a bit with guys. given her job, she might have done that before. the only way to find out is to go again a couple more times. if she's not there, then i'd give up!

7117 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I mean it was a new conversation for her.My sister's were all bartender's and were asked out everyday.She makes her money on tips she probably gives guys those lines so they come back when she works the girl lives off of tips.I don't know if she was really into you ya gotta ask yourself why didn't she give me her number.I like this server at a local bar by me but won't ask her out when she is at work im waiting to see her out.But if she get's that part for the play I think ya gotta go check it out nothing to lose.
stepka Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 It sounds like something I might do if I wanted to see if a man seriously liked me or was just passing the time for one night and not really interested. Def go back and see her--something tells me that if she really does like you you'll get the rest of the number by week 2, or 3 at the latest.

D-Lish Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Bartenders work for tips, and a part of getting better tips means 1) being flirty, 2) getting repeat business (regulars). It's really hard to say if she is attracted to you or not- people in the hospitality industry make their money by being nice to people. If I was working behind the wood- I'd also take the time to talk to someone that came in on their own and sat at my bar. I'd say she is used to getting hit on all the time- and that her "one digit a night" routine is rehearsed. It's witty, it's not offensive, and it keeps you coming back... If I was attracted to someone, I wouldn't tell them they'd have to wait 6 weeks to get my number.
7117 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 D-lish is so right.If she liked you Trust Us she would give you her number straight up here it is call me can't wait to hear from ya.But no she has to play games come for the next six weeks and maybe you will get the rest umm how bout no how bout we meet out at one of my places I go to for a drink and some conversation thats what I would ask her.That whole 6 week thing just makes me mad I hate when people play games with one another.
BobSacamento Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I'd bring a wing man. Have him work the bar while your out making a loop around the bar. Have him try to get her "number" (lol). Then compare numbers.
