Go ahead, I wouldn't respond. Even on a bad day I wouldn't care.
I have to agree. Nothing said here bothers me at all. It's an internet board for christ's sake. For all I know people are not even who they say they are. Some of these women are probably men, some of the men women, and others are 13 year old kids getting a rise out of people.

I want to go on record with Jay and say the ladies can post whatever they want about men and I promise I won't get upset in the least. Not even if I tried to. I can't imagine ever getting to a point in my life where what is said on a message board actually matters much at all to me. There is some good advice to be had here at LS, the rest is just noise.

To be completely fair to both sides though, I have to admit I'm a lot younger than most here so it's hard for me to truly empathize. Maybe getting older does something to you mentally and emotionally that I'm not yet aware of personally. I've seen it happen to people in my life but I haven't actually experienced it, so who knows, maybe they are coping the best they know how.

At then end of the day, after reading this board on some days, I find myself thanking god for my youth, and I revel in it.:)

They say youth is wasted on the young, but if these threads have taught me anything, it's to enjoy my youth and live in the now.

Well it's completely evident you lack empathy, with comments like "well it's not my responsibility to be concerned with how others interpret things online" or "it's not my problem what others are going through"

Don't worry it will come, for those that are born without empathy , life has a funny way of beating it into them. I've seen it happen too many times and it is not pretty when it does. ;)

It appears you care about something, otherwise, why would have posted this thread?

Actually I don't know now. Just musing I guess. Go ahead and post whatever you want. I won't mind  I guess I was just wondering why we're making such a big deal about all this stuff.

I went back on your previous posts and found the ones I looked at, fairly balanced. Not caring about personal preferences is one thing and getting tired of the same old, same old, unbalanced stuff is something else. Just click on the link I provided and you'll find that you get tired of the same ol', same ol', the same way the rest of us do...

I see.

Lol, that just about made my day.

Glad I could help.:D But it's the truth man, don't forget it. I used to mod a board with over a million members and you WOULD NOT BELIEVE the weirdness that went on, even by respected members. People coming in and creating new ID's and having conversations with themselves to make it appear people were agreeing with them etc..

Men pretending to be women, women pretending to be men and most of all kids pretending to be adults. It's almost impossible for any forum admin to control as a new IP is just a few clicks away even if you ban them. Most times it's easier to simply infract them since if you ban they'll just come back and you have to start all over figuring out who they are.

Read the thread, "Women like money, men like youth."

Hell, even the title says women are money grubbers and older women won't get a man.

No, it doesn't at all.

That thread is a novel! 33 pages, gosh. I read the first post and it's just someone paraphrasing the findings of a Discovery Channel program.

And the other half of the title says poor men won't get a woman, and men are shallow a$$es.:lmao:

If you want to take it to an extreme, might as well go both ways. Like all studies of this type it's a fallacy to try and predict an individual outcome from the statistical result. All you can do is try to predict the LIKELIHOOD of an individual outcome.

If you did a study on coin toss odds, you can't predict the next coin toss, but you CAN potentially predict the ODDS of the next coin toss outcome.

I hope you stay that way for a long time. this is exactly why I like younger men - that statement probably sounds a bit creepy but I mean that in the most innocent way

You know what? that is an excellent point, now you are talking. I hope the rest of the forum is reading that right now because this really puts things into prespective in what goes on behind the keyboard. I have pegged a few posters on this site as complete fabrications, figments of overactive imaginations for sure. Mind you I am not depressed or down or in despair so it might be easier for me to see what's what.

It's just not as easy to see that when you are down and out and stumble upon this sight in a state of depression or despair and feeling really low. A lot of people are just feeling down and are very impressionable because of that.

I don't think it sounded creepy. I know exactly where you're coming from and what you mean, and I agree. :)

Just remember also that we had members that were constantly accusing other members of posting under multiple ID's, etc., so it goes both ways too. Just because you have pegged some user as a complete fabrication does not make it so.

This place is tame and utterly civilized compared to others. I posted on the Pravda (yes, the electronic successor to the old Soviet fish-wrapper) forum for 2-3 years. THAT place was rough.

You learn quickly not to take forums (fora?) too seriously, or at least become able to separate the wheat from the chaff fairly readily.

Agree completely, especially with the part that I made bold.

I think some people just have WAAAAAY too much time on their hands and just love arguing to death about silly things on an internet board... well, to each their own I guess :D

ps I'll also put up my hand and say women can say whatever they want about men hehe

No I meant in terms of what they share about their lives outside of the cyber world, you can tell they fabricate half of what they say for the simple fact that they are on the forum 24/7.

I am not a big forum frequenter, I did stumble upon this one a few years ago, and come and go since there is always a good discussion on life's issues. But I'll have to take your word for that. I did used to post on a tv show forum and those can get pretty nasty at times too. Heck I am sure anything online can get nasty, anonymity brings out the worst in people that's for sure. ;)

Well I'm not here all the time but I do 90% of my reading(not posting) of LS with my BlackBerry. These people can EASILY have a life and post here constantly too. Smartphones nowadays allow for most anything regarding the internet with ease of use. Not only that, but most smartphones acquire a new IP every time they connect(assuming they are not using a wi-fi connection), so if one was so inclined, they could create new accounts at will and the only real way for admins to stop them would be to ban the host, but then that would cut off users using that host who haven't caused any problems and only created one account.

At any rate, imo, you cannot concern yourself with who is telling the truth and who is lying about their life. Not trying to be an ass but if you hang here so much that you start to have ideas about who is lying regarding their real life, you're hanging out here too much.

I take people here at face value since I don't have the time or inclination to do otherwise. Besides, I'd bet every one of us has lied about one facet of our lives at some point. It's what we humans do from time to time.:D

You yuppie iPhone user you.:D BlackBerry rocks the iPhone.:p:p:D

Seriously I do miss the web browsing of the iPhone but I don't miss not being able to run multiple applications at the same time, or having to fetch email rather than it being sent automatically. At least 3.0 will fix the copy and paste issue though! Yes, I am a BB fanboy, but then that is a whole other forum and a whole other flamefest.:D

Crackberry is pretty nice but if the corp wants me to read my corp email on the run they need to pay for my phone. For non-biz use I prefer the iPhone, my second fave is the Samsung BlackJack.

On topic, young women dig the iPhone more.

I hear you on that. My brother uses his iPhone for business and he hates feeling like he has to answer emails when he shouldn't have to. When he had a BB he hated it because he KNEW his boss KNEW he got the email.:D I can't stand the blackjack just based on it's looks. The iPhone and BlackBerry 9000 kill everything else in regards to sexy looks, imo.

On topic: no, no, no, women see a BB and think, this guy has his act together, instead of playing with a toy(iPhone).:D Just for the record, I don't have my act together, but it's a great illusion.:D

Possibly, but when was the last time a girl came up and started playing with your Blackberry, and then passed to her friend, who passed it to her other friend, and eventually it came back with the battery almost dead and a dozen new phone numbers with photos in it? And a new high score on CubeRunner?

Last time I went out alone, that's how it went down. :p

Mine gets passed around a lot(I have some cool themes), has a camera AND video camera. The difference between you and I is when mine comes back with a dead battery, I just pop in my spare. Obviously since you cannot remove the battery from the iPhone you are crap out of luck while and I can pass mine around again.:D

And noone can put a higher score on brickbreaker than me.:D:D

Ya, the girls seem to love the Bubble game a lot - some OCD stuff there I think. I'm no Apple fanboy, but for me, the iPhone does what it does better than anything else out there, and has stunning gaps in functionality that you can drive a truck through. Video? Hello? Cut and paste, already? Wow, it's only been a common feature since Windows 3.1.

They either do a thing darn near perfectly, or decide not to even try.

I'm just giving a fellow smartphone owner a hard time.:D I'm not a BB fanboy either. The iPhone has an unsurpassed web browsing experience, along with the iTunes app store, etc.., andit makes for a really nice device.

I'd use both to be honest but when I've tried two devices I always migrate to one of them and it ends up being a waste of time and money.

We've both got top rated mobile devices and it's fantastic we have these kinds of choices, and it's only going to get better.

Hey man you're going to get copy and paste with the new 3.0 software upgrade. I think I even read that they are going to add video recording. Not 100% sure on that one but it's for sure getting copy and paste and we both know how valuable that is, so it's looking up.
