dwillms Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Hello, I'm in a LDR with a fantastic girl who lives about 2,000 miles away. We've known each other for 2 years and been dating for 6 months. Due to the distance apart and our finances, we only get to see each other once every 3-4 months. She doesn't really have Internet access, so we usually talk on the phone 1-3 times per week and text constantly as well. I've been looking for date night ideas to spend more time together, but haven't come up with much for LDR couples. Basically just a movie/game/book night, eating out at the same restaurant, or doing something outdoors together like stargazing. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Dustin
Island Girl Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 You got me. I have no idea. My hubby and I do not live in the same hemisphere so start gazing is out. We have none of the same restaurants (or even the same foods!) so eating out "together" is out. He doesn't have a way to watch movies on any kind of regular basis, he doesn't have access to games, and he is ESL/books aren't available like they are here so that is out as well. We just talk to each other. That is the extent of it. I hope others can give you some great ideas but most here (along with their SOs) have regular computer access.
SoulSearch_CO Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I've seen some good ideas here: http://www.lovingyou.com/content/love/longdistance.php But I have no idea of your specific situation, so naming a thing or two that I've read on there is hard. But if you scroll down, there's the section "Romancing your partner long distance." HTH
Author dwillms Posted March 30, 2009 Author Posted March 30, 2009 Thanks for the link, I found that website too the other day & already read every article in the section. I know if both of us had regular internet access it would open up a bunch of new possibilities, but that's not the case. I'm trying to make the best of what we have available. -Dustin
