ph4ntomas Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Hey there... Here's the problem: I work for a big company and a few months ago (5-6), I met this girl while taking an in-house course. Before you serve me with the line "relationships in a workplace is a bad idea", let me ensure you that even though we are working for the same company, we work in different departments, on different floors and I can never become her boss or her mine's. I meet her quite often while taking cigarette's break. Sometimes, it's several times a week and some other time, only a couple of times. Over the past few months, we talked about a lot of stuff, but it was mostly small talk and nothing much personnal. I'd like to push it forward and see what might happen, but I'm unsure of what I should do next. Also, last time we talked, we discussed about our respective Easter vacations for which I will drive a few hours to meet my family and she asked if I would go with my girlfriend to which I responded with a casual (I hope) "No, It's still just me, no girlfriend". Now, it could have been just small talk or it might have been her showing interest ? I just don't know yet. So, any of you would have comments or suggestion on what I should do next ? I should also mention that I'm quite shy in these kind of situations... Thanks for any help you might provide ! phantomas
Mahatma Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 The next step was to return the exact same question: "What are you doing with your boyfriend for easter?" Normally when I see what she said to you, it is a dead give away that she is asking if you have a girlfriend, but you seem to be older than me (19). I would still bet it is the same though. Since you did not return the question, you can just assume she was showing interest and does not have a boyfriend. The next step is to just tell her one day on your smoke break that you are going to "x" after work or on some break, and she is invited if she is interested. Done.
