I will try to make this as short as possibe,I am 32 had a gf for 7 yrs lived with me for 3 yrs we have ups and downs like everyone,There was no cheating going on but after a lot of fighting she moved out and fell off the face of the earth,I only have 2 close friends who r sick of hearing this and no family so I fonund this site and it has been very helpful,I am not a very affectionate person and even though I love her have never told her,so when she moved out it was a kick in the gut for me and I am ready to accept this,I went NC for 3 weeks but for my own personal closure I texted her and told her I love her and will let her move on,and that I hoped she had a good life just so that b4 I really call it quits, I can say that I tried. She immediatly texted me back and said she loves me and there is no one else, but she needs time and that was the last contact,my question is do I wait or move on,am I being nieve to think this can ever be repaired, any advise would be greatly appreciated.thanks taking the time to read.

By that text you somewhat gave closure for yourself, and at the same time let her know that the lines of communication is open. Now it's up to her. I suggest you start moving on, with the expecations of nothing. Sitting around, hoping and waiting for that one phone call from her will only drive you crazy. Leave her alone, and go pamper yourself for a while.

Even if you guys do end up back together it won't work for the long-term unless you (both) have done some serious self-reflecting on why it did NOT work the first time 'round, and taken steps to improve in all the problem areas.

To me, just "waiting" is an unwise choice regardless of how things may or may not eventually pan out. And "moving on" without increasing self-awareness and relationship skills isn't really "moving"...it's just spinning wheels while waiting for the next relationship disaster to happen.

In my experiance....As soon as you move on....they come back!

Do not wait around for anyone. She is the one that wants the break not you. Move forward and try not to think about it. Take care of yourself. I promise you the day you stop thinking about her is the day she calls.
