Gunny376 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I've been off work for the past two days, (Mon~ Tue are my normal days off) and have been doing some major "Spring Cleaning" and came across a print out from back in the day from a site called "DivorceRecovery101" from back in the day. (We're talking mid-nineties) Its a free site, doesn't cost anything, and has boo-koo articles about divorce and everything that goes with it. And mostly about how to get on with your life, learning how to be single, how to be a divorced parent. Most are written by "vets" who have been through the process, etc. You;; have to Google it, as I believe its against LS policy to direct link to other sites. But it would be a damn good resource for you rookies just now going through it.

I know that this emotional stuff is like an alien language for people like us. We can't break the bad feelings or kill em if we need to. It's frusterating. Of all the folks here on LS, I think I worry about you most compadre..

I learned a lot from people like you who shared a great wealth of knowledge and empathy for things that I was going thru. Good to know that you are helping out the "rookies" coz you and I know it can be really rough. I didn't know what I had in me until I was put to the test and I am happy about the solid decisions I made for myself even when I couldn't see it at the time. Trust In Yourself ...hehe Warm regards, Shin0bi1

I know that this emotional stuff is like an alien language for people like us. We can't break the bad feelings or kill em if we need to. It's frustrating. Of all the folks here on LS, I think I worry about you most compadre.. Actually I'm doing OK and getting better! And its only been in the last couple of weeks that I could say that! I'm making more money than I've ever made in my life, I've a low-stress/no stress job with low stress/no stress bosses and co-workers. I've got my job down to a science/art? My competency level is back to where it was at the peak of my career in the Marines. I'm getting my confidence back that I once had. I've got my income to debt ratio the lowest its been in my lifetime and will be out of debt in less than seven months. I'm not where I want to be nor need to be? But I'm working on it. Getting out of the Corps ~ and going from being a "hero" to a "zero" was hard. Same with coming to terms with the PTSD, having been "institutionalized" for twenty years, the depression, the anxiety of transitioning from being a career Marine to a civilian. The landlord got really POd when I started sandbagging and putting up "the conscientia wire and planting claymore mines around the apartment while sharping my K-Bar in my skivvy shorts!! But seriously, I'm like everyone else! Just weathering the "Storms Of Life!" They're less and less now! But MAN for awhile there? They just kept coming and coming one after another! Girls Night Out Unfaithful wife Walk-A-Way-Wife Separation Divorce Car Payment or Child Support or go to jail Bills Bill Collectors Bankruptcy Wearing Shoes with holes in them Wet socks from same Eating Beanies and Weenies and/Oodles of Noddles Driving used junk cars Walking to work Eviction notices on the door Repo of cars Me? I'm doing OK ~ and getting better!
