I missed the bus and wanted to go into town so figured what the heck! I love to walk and do so often as I don't have a car.

I took the bus home tho got to cheat some times lol... Any one else enjoy walking whats your routine?

I walk 20 minutes one way, 5 days a week, back and forth to work.

Also, I speedwalk 1 hour on Saturdays and Sundays, on the track, in a nearby park.

I'm not rigid in my sched for walking, during the non-winter. I do anywhere from 2 - 7 kms per session unless I'm walking with someone who has a more rigid sched.

A friend of mine walks daily, unless there's snow. When I join her the amount walked is also not rigid, due to rain. She does a serious pace, is taller than I am, so I'm half jogging to keep up with her! Think toddler scrambling after the adult!

I just walked two miles and I feel like a Roman soldier

I probably smell like one too. I should shower, but this is more fun

I'm 34 and after nearly 15 years of nothing but beer and pizza, I started off walking one mile in Aug 08 about twice a week. Now I run about a 1/2 mile, walk the same distance and do this again for two miles total about 4 to 5 times a week. If I don't plan on running, I walk 3 miles during my lunch hour at work. Also pepper in weights and basketball.

I know the feeling I'm of the shorter variety myself I use to have a Friend that was 6'5 once and I just about had to sprint when he was in a hurry just to keep up lol..

I walk easily 5-10 km a day in my daily business. Never really considered walking as a specific exercise activity.

I try to walk a a fair amount after a run as I think it helps in recovery. Not anything official or planned, but just parking further away, doing stairs, walking more at work, etc.

I walk an hour and a half - 2 hours 7 days a week in all seasons, and I run a few miles 3 days a week in all seasons except for winter.

I don't know how much I walk everyday, I really can't say. But I play Basketball 3 times a week and there is a lot of running involved in it.

Is it advisable to have a pedometer? Where can I get one?

During the week 2-3 miles a day. Weekends up to 10 miles or so. Yesterday was 3 miles, today was 5. It pays to have dogs that need exercise, otherwise I'd never get off the couch!

I push the baby in the stroller a little over 3 miles a day. Sometimes up to 6 miles, if he's fussy. If I wear him in the Moby, however, I can only walk 2 miles at this point. He's just too heavy for me now, at 10 months old.
