darby1 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I have been dating this guy who is 11 years younger than me. I adore him and he seems to like having me around too. As we have been going we have been spending more time together and yesterday is the most time we've spent connected at the hip all day and night.. We went to the beach and lounged on the sand and drove from here to there, went to eat .. a good day, but I can't help but wonder, why he doesn't say much?? I don't really mind a lack in chatter, but it makes it very difficult to read if he is having fun or not? I want him to be enjoying himself with me, but is he?? Maybe it is a young thing?? I'm confused? He seems to like me, but am I boring him? We have a lot in common, but maybe not as much as I think? We never have big phone conversations, I am not a big phone talker. When its just he and I alone, we both just cuddle and say nothing. I can't think of anything to say and clearly he can't either. Our sex life is awesome and his smell and touch is perfect. So we clearly like each other. But we are both.. speechless. My concern is that I can't tell if he is enjoying himself and younger girls are always filled with chatter I can't provide.. so could I be boring to him?
Hurting. Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Having quiet intervals is fine, you don't want to be chatting to each other the whole time! But if it's long periods of awkward silence, theres no real advice than make an effort! talk about your day, your plans for the week, ask what his are, talk about TV characters, programmes, news.. Conversation should always roll over to another conversation if you two are confident together. Don't question the age gap, age is just a number, you're personalities have found each other to be in a relationship, not age.
