Waitress Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 The guy I've been dating introduced me to his dog. They are seriously thisclose and it seems the dog likes me a lot. Took to me in a uniquely big way (never likes anyone that much apparently.) If this were you and your dog would the dog's opinion mean a lot to you?
bean1 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I'm not sure how much I value my dog's opinion. Lately, he's taken to eating poo (he's still a puppy) as an interesting night time snack.
2sure Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I would have to yes, my dog's opinion matters to me. But she is afraid of one of my best friends and humps my MIL's leg.
Art_Critic Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Any person who has a pet wants to make sure the person they are in a relationship with can get along well with the pet.. on both sides... Spending 4-6 weeks getting to know someone only to have to break up with them after you find out they either don't like your dog or your dog hates them would suck and be a total waste of time.. Cat owners can be just as picky...
loveslife Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Dogs are good judges of character. I think it's a really good sign.
WarKat Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I agree that dogs and small children are very good indicators of character. Cats not so much so, because one of my cats hates everyone, except me. However, I will absolutely never date any woman who hates pets or cats in general.
pollywag Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Hey dogs are people too! Well we're not, but we do have opinions.
samspade Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 A dog would lick Hitler's face if he fed it bacon. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.
OpenBook Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 A dog would lick Hitler's face if he fed it bacon. I wouldn't put too much stock in it. I remember seeing a short film strip of Hitler and his GF out on the terrace, and a German Shepherd walked up to them and started crouching and cringing and flattening his ears when Hitler bent down to pet him. That is the first and only time I have EVER seen a German Shepherd who wasn't supremely confident in themselves. I myself have put a LOT of stock into my animals' reactions to my BF's. They've never been wrong.
citizen67 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I hate a date come to my place last weekend. Says he's a huge animal person. My cat hated him, and my cat's pretty friendly generally. Not sure what it means
SpanksTheMonkey Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I think its nice if they can get along with your animals my cats are very moody so I wouldn't be surprised if they blew some one new completely off just how they are. In general I think dogs are an easer sell then cats there just happy if you pay them any attention pretty much my landlords dog loves me then again I give her treats all the time bribery works wonders lol...

Not sure what it means Lets not forget animals work largely on smell and odors maybe he had some smell possibly heavy Cologne on him she/he didn't care for thats always a possibility too...
kizik Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 My dog voted for McCain and I haven't spoken to the bitch since.

bella23 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Yes it matters... my dog is usually right about the people or friends The dog uses its tail to express the feelings in following ways 1) When the dog is happy or friendly, it wags its tail - keeping upwards. You need not to get afraid of its biting. 2) When the dog is angry, the tail will be upward & stirred. That is the caution / threatening to attack & bite. 3) When the dog is afraid, the tail will turn downwards & inside. 4) The tail of mad dog will be straight & horizontally. So be aware of biting without any caution or threatening.
