This is my first time posting and I need advice on how to handle a possible breakup with lady friend. I lied to her about my age and she became very upset and would'nt speak with me for several days. During the conversation I told her that I was 3yrs older than the age told initially. So, tonight she wanted clarification on my true age. Instead of being honest, I stuck with the 3yrs older lie. I'm actually 4yrs older than I told her. Now she wants to see my drivers license. Should I just man up and tell the truth or just refuse to show license and stick with the last lie? This is the worst thing that has happened in this 11 month relationship and I would hate for it to end this way. Please advise!

Why would you lie about your age? last time a guy did that i never talked to him again.. if you could lie about your age then it means you'd most likely lie about really big things. just dont lie and be honest. you probably pwnd yourself with this relationship. just know next time tell the girl the truth

Tell the truth. You can't build the relationship on lies and then more lies. Personally, I would be even more upset if you tried to hide the fact that you did lie than by the lie itself. And she will know that you're hiding it if you refuse to show her your license.

Really, is there a reason why you lied? And why would you continue to lie, especially if the difference is only one year? If you're uncomfortable with your age, this is not an uncommon problem and can be reasonably explained. If you're lying just to lie, this is a much bigger problem.

I know about this...

I lied about my age to a guy who was much younger than me...it came back and bit me on the bum.

I'll never do it again :o....

I guess one could say that I'm uncomfortable about my age because I'm single and people think that I look much younger than I actually am. By the way, I'm 44 but could easily pass for 40. That's the age I gave her initially, then 43 and now she wants proof. She's 34 and wants a baby in two or three years but I'm not trying to rush it as I've got kids already. Also, I want to be married with a family and not just a baby daddy AGAIN. Thanks for your replies

Man up buddy. It is the only way to go in almost any situation.

But I would wanna see her license too! Just to make sure she's 34.
