I am a confident person, so its not about that. But its been 10 years since i was single and my looks have changed some. But i have been mistaken for alot of nationalities, like hawian and spanish.

You look pleasant, although very serious, and clean and well-kept- - which is pretty important to a woman. I am guessing that you are re-entering the dating market? If so, do NOT put pictures like this on a dating site. My entire group of women friends hate the "self-portrait with the cell phone in the mirror"; the last discussion on this said something along the lines of "if he doesn't have any friends that he can ask to take a casual pic of him, then he has problems!" (Btw, no pictures that obviously have a woman cut out, and no naked chest pictures (unless you are at the beach or water skiing!))

I think the problem is the guy probably doesn't want people to know he's on a dating site.

Your friends sound extremely judgmental, that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. A man doesn't need to let all his friends know he is posting pictures on a dating site, some people are private about their doings and don't need to invlolve every Tom Dick and Harry in their business. Uh, glad to see that you are not judgemental yourself! LOL! Polly, being on a dating site is often like a crapshoot, so anything one can do to improve one's chances of attracting a woman is a good thing. And these are honest opinions that I have heard many women give about guy's dating profiles. Sorry that it bothers you to read that, but they are valid for many women. First impressions are what typically get remembered. Attractive, tasteful pictures are important, as are well-written and personable profiles. I was just trying to help Alan out, as he asked.
