jen483 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Hello all!!! I am going through a tough time and hopefully someone out there can help!!! Here is my story in a nutshell: I have been with my boyfriend for a little over three years, and I feel like it is not going anywhere. I am in my early 30's and he is in his late 20's. He has a demanding job which leaves only one day a week for us to spend together. However, I am starting to feel like I am a secret. Due to our limited time together, I have not met his family, and I have only met a few of his friends. He seems to be living a double life. I have recently found out that he is telling people that he is single. I do not know how to confront him, because every time I bring up our relationship and tell him how I feel, he tells me I am being insecure. We speak about the future, marriage, and he tells me that I am going to meet his family, etc., but I am getting tired of this. I also found out recently that he has also gone on a website for relationship advice, basically saying that he cannot put up with my insecurities any longer. What should I do?
socialight Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 He is walking all over you. The only excuse I can see for not having met his folks in 3 years is that they are dead. He probably feels it's going nowhere because you are insecure, anxious, and weak. You need to stand up for ourself, demand proper respect, and feel that you can be happy without him. Only by mentally and emotionally preparing yourself for life w/o him will you actually have any chance to stay together.
