You were looking forward to it all week, this first date, with a guy who's peripherally in your circle of friends for years, but barely knew until recently. He takes you out to dinner at this fabulous southern Italian restaurant and you eat lots of oil olive soaked bread and olives and pasta. You share a bottle of wine. You laugh, and you laugh, and you trade stories and quips and quotes and make innuendos and the world shrinks to the size of a bubble that only encloses the two of you. You walk to the streetcar stop together but you want to keep walking and so does he. You stop over at his place, a crazy huge loft in an old warehouse building, and he kisses you the moment you step inside. You make out. It's hot. But it's also late and you take a cab home with a huge grin on your face. You text him, "I never did get that tea. ;)" He texts back, ":) So you'll have to come over for tea sometime." Now....to call or not to call? Friends tell you, wait for him to call you. That way you'll know if he's really interested. But you want to hear his voice. Still, you're afraid of f*cking things up, that by contacting him too soon, you'll make it seem as though you're putting pressure on him. Your best friend says, "If he's interested, he would have called you today. Don't call him. Wait for him to call you." Thoughts?
hollisterbaby Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 idk about this one i waited 4 my bf 2 call me and he did.now its 3 years later. if u want to call him dont make it so obvious. ask him about that tea or whatever u were talking about. im sure he'll call u.ur date sounded romantic and the guy seems nice.

I can't help but be reminded of a guy I went out with for a while- who had a big warehouse loft in T.Dot and loved his tea. I always like to wait for them to call after a good date. They always do when they are interested. How long has it been since you last had contact?

They always do when they are interested. How long has it been since you last had contact? D, you've dated a fair amount, I gather, so it's interesting to hear that this has always been true in your experience. I used to think shy guys might not call... I will be following this advice from now on.
