Mandapanda Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Hi, my name is Amanda. I'm 22 years old, I got married 3 years ago and me and my husband have decided to have a baby. I still am on depo, however when I am due in two months I am not going to get my shot. I have never had a 'regular' cycle. There where times (before i was even on the shot) that I would go two, three months without a period. Since I have gotten the shot, i have had no periods at all. I have only been on the shot for six months (two shots) I have heard horror stories about the shot, everyone claiming that it is hard to get pregnant after being on the shot. I know I am going to have a hard time, just because I have never had a regular cycle. But I was wondering if anyone has had trouble conviecing after depo? or if there is someone out there that has a good story to tell (i have yet to hear one) I really want a baby, and if it is true about depo, does anyone have any ideas of things that would help me? Things i can drink/eat or vitamins? Anything, please.
Just Angel Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Well, I took the shot for 1 cycle, and it took us almost 2yrs to concieve after =/ The 'typical' wait is..Im sad to say, 18 months. My dr said there was nothing to be done to make it leave your body faster. His advice was to take the waiting time as time to get my body as healthy as I could.
Author Mandapanda Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 I'm so mad about this! What pisses me off the most is that my doctor NEVER let me know about it before I went on it. He never told me about the 'side effects'
