confused2309 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 How many dates, do you usually have before you decide that your going to have a serious relationship? is there an average number, or does it just happen?
BCCA Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I tend to have at least an idea of the potential after the first date, definitely after the second, and for the next few after that I just look for confirmation that this is a worthwhile person to date. I think you just know fairly early, or at least have an idea if you want to spend more time with this person to see what develops.
zaphodb2002 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Took me 2 dates to know I wanted a long term thing, and then 4 months of casual dating to make my move, lol. Of course, by that time, we were already de facto dating, seeing each other every day and such. These things work themselves out I think. If there's long term potential and both sides feel it, it'll happen.
Waitress Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I think these things work themselves out, too. But sometimes at the beginning, when things are undefined, it can be comforting to hear other people's experiences. I think I'm at the same point as confused. Kind of into the person, he's into me, but it hasn't crossed a line into bf/gf yet.
burningashes Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 hehe, I love this stuff. It usually works itself out. With my bf, it took us two months to figure each other out. Actually, he wanted me to ask him out, because he was the first one who invited me over to his place and took me out for dinners, etc. It became a bit of a joke with us going back and forth, he said at a point that he thought we should wait a bit before I could ask him out. The whole time, I was fine with the way things were, I wasn't in a hurry to get in a relationship with him at all even though I liked him ALOT. So, I said, "Ok, I'm fine with that, we'll wait." Then a week or so later, he surprised me by asking me to be his girlfriend. "But I thought you said you wanted to wait for me to ask you out?" I asked him before I said yes. "I'm asking you now because I don't want to wait any longer for you to ask me out," he said. So I said, "Ok," with a grin on my face. I swear my boyfriend's the girl in our relationship :lmao: Why did you post this thread? Does this have anything to do with your relationship in particular?

How long is a piece of string? How long or short it is or as short or long as you want it too be
Shygirl15 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I think it just happens. All my experiences vary from one another.
