jadelil25 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 How long would you say is a reasonable amount of time to be in a relationship before meeting a boyfriend/girlfriends friends? My boyfriend is quite shy and does not talk a lot and next month I am having a meet up with my college friends to celebrate two of them getting engaged. There will be about ten of us and they are all bringing their partners so I would like to take my boyfriend too. They are a really nice group and are not loud or anything like that and it will be a meal in a pub which we are doing. By the time this happens I will have been with my boyfriend for three months and was wondering if it is to early to ask him or should I just go ahead and do it anyway? I really would appreciate your opinion. Thank you.
Squirtal Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Hi Jade I guess it depends on the people involved..but I met my guys friends on the 3rd date. After 3 months I would think it would be natural for you to invite him along to a do with your chums. I always think that introducing your partner to friends shows you're happy in the relationship.
reservoirdog1 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 The woman I'm currently dating met a few of my friends about two weeks after she and I first met. It was a bit different I suppose, because I had the feeling from stuff we talked about that she might have met a couple of them before. Turns out I was right, but it was about ten years earlier. I don't think there are rules about this, other than it shouldn't happen on a first date because you should be focusing on each other. You don't have to have declared yourselves to be in a relationship in order to meet each other's friends. It's just socializing and having fun.
