Hi.P.O'Crit
... read the link I post next time and don't make me explain it three times. Wikipedia is not the most reliable reference since it can be edited by anyone with enough people to back the edit. If you want me to read a reference provide one that at least appears reputable, maybe .edu .gov or .org.

Jersey Shortie
I don't think being overweight is healthy, but I don't think being skinny makes you automatically healthy either. And I certainly don't think the ideal media perception about what a woman's body should look like is about health or is healthy. But that's how alot of men, and unfortunetly women that struggle with body issues, define "health". Which at the end of the day, is a joke. Because the the perception isn't healthy at all. It seems that there are alot of guys out there that won't stick by their partners the second something doesn't go the way they want it to. I'm not overweight but with all the pressure on women to look a ceratin way that's been sold as "ideal", it doesn't help to have the men that are part of our lives, that are suppose to stick by us, buy into that ideal either. It would be nice to have men on our side, not against us so much as it seems to be in this thread. I guess that's what women should learn to expect though. You guys don't come off very forgiving or gracious. Especially to your mates that are standing by your side.
gopher
No offense Shortie, but women are as bad as men. Having been a member of various online dating sites, it's amazing how many "short" women(under 5'3") want a guy over 6' tall...how is that any worse than guys who want to date thin or in shape women? Jersey Shortie
I think the girl in the bikkini by the pool is very cute and sexy. No offense Shortie, but women are as bad as men. No, your right. It's not any better to be that way. I dated guys of all heights....but I'm short myself. But I have no rule about only dating men 6 feet plus. I also had a huge crush on Seth Green and know alot of girls that did and he isn't tall. I think he is 5'4?

You are prejudiced and rude. Why do people who are overweight put up with this kind of verbal abuse? I refuse to accept this thread as being anything legitimate. No one expects you to like fat people, but it is quite immature to give your unwanted opinion about it. Good luck with your girlfriend. I wonder how she feels about guys who are overly judgmental? I know you are going to respond by saying "she has an awesome figure, I treat her nice"....blah blah blah. The fact is that if you treat other people this way, you are eventually going to do the same thing to her. You suck at life.

I just think there should be no shame in saying I don't think fat women are attractive and I wouldn't date one.
confusedcookie
her gaining 30 pounds while you guys are in a relationship is not an excuse to dump her, that is too shallow and you don't love her for the right reasons. she probably gained 30 pounds b/c she was so comfortable with you and she let herself go a little, weight comes and goes, being able to gain 30 pounds doesn't mean that she also can't lose 30 pounds. also, it would be a double standard if to criticize how much weight she gained or her body, if you were over weight yourself. and if you were in tip top condition and she was fat, then you can motivate her to exercise with you or join boot camp together. i think that's quite cute. as a woman who is a little overweight, (i'm asian, so i get called fat all the time b/c asian girls are usually really skinny), i'm 5'3" and 120 pounds with a fairly round face, i'm actually very upset that guys would dump me if i was having too much fun being happily with love with them that i just momentarily neglected my weight. look at britney spears, she was hot before, and then you dumped her when she gained weight, and now that she's super hot again, you take her back???? And you sound cute but at 5'3 if you were say 160 or 170 I probably would not find you attractive and if I was single would not want to date you

allina
The fact is that your opinion and your rude comments are considered prejudice. In case you forgot the definition go to http://www.dictionary.com Basically, all that some men are saying is that a fat body is ugly to them and that they don't want to date and/or f*ck one, this is based on what their eyes and penis tell them. I think people are getting way too huffy over this thread.

IMO 5'3" and 120 pounds is not fat (my girlfriend has about the same measurements and I think that she's pretty hot). But, that said, for this height this weight is definitely about close the maximum acceptable upper boundary where nicely curvateous comes dangerously close to 'fat'. So that's why you'd need to be particularly vigilant about your weight in the scenario you mention - any increase in weight will be very obvious. If a 100 pound girl gains 20 pounds temporarily, it won't be nearly as problematic if a girl with the measures you mention did. So, that's the reason I would personally watch my gf's weight closely, and would consider some changes in our lifestyle at the very first signs of her gaining weight. I understand that being comfortable in a relationship is conducive to letting yourself go, but please understand that there is a big risk involved in this, and it is generally better to avoid possible tension by sticking to plausible weight management regimen... I think people are getting way too huffy over this thread. I think the calling women cows is what upset many posters. No one says you shouldn't date who you want, but it isn't necessary to disrespect people based on body type. We all have assumptions about why people are the way they are. But I would wager there aren't too many doctors or scientists on her to examine and diagnose the reason for a particular person's weight problem. There are ways to behave even when posting behind a screen. I am not overweight, but there are people I love who are. I didn't find it funny, cute or necessary to use such derogatory labels to describe someone who is different than or not the preferred body type. I don't particularly care for people who use ignorant words when their brains run out of intelligent ways to voice an opinion, but I also don't feel the need to give them names of livestock.
