Gold Pile Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 One of my employees fancies himself an actor. He keeps taking time off to go to auditions for various roles. Recently he excitedly showed me a casting call for an extra (Thats Hollywood talk;)), the description of the character was for a guy approximately my age, height, weight, hairline, beard style, and hair color. It even made mention of an "air" or demeanor that was a perfect match. After he told me that Jennifer Aniston was rumored to be in this movie, I decided to try out. I auditioned Friday. I used his name as extras need to be in the Actor's Union. If I get the part, he and I will split the pay. There I was Friday in a room full of Gold Pile clones (17 to be exact), Some were slightly shorter, taller, but none as handsome:o. As per instructions we were dressed in Chino's , dark turtle-necks (I wore a mock), and a sports jacket. At one point the wardrobe girls started dressing us in jackets from their collection. They filmed and took a million pictures of us. The women around there (make-up, wardrobe, production, photographers, catering, etc) all dressed to kill. Nearly all were slender and fit and had wildly stylish hair. Two slightly overweight women dressed in super low cut tops to compensate. The rumor circulated that Michelle Piefier or Julia Lois Dreyfus could be the star. They are fantastically beautiful too, but I rather hope Jen is the star, as I hear she is available and the other 2 are happily married. I swear to you...give me a day or two in her presence and I will land a date with her. It is a speaking part with one short line. I signed a confidentiality agreement and can't reveal the line or many other particulars. I didn't recognize the director's name, but I've looked him up on the net, quite a few well known movies to his credit. Seems several of us clones shared a similar sense of humor. At one point a really hot actress (semi famous, but I can't name her) laughed at "the group of such handsome twins" (her words), about 8 of us rushed to give her a hug...a group hug as it turns out. One creep pinched her butt and I'm proud to say it wasn't me. I did cop a pretty good feel though. They are going to notify the ones they want to screen test. Afterwords, 9 of us thought it would be funny to goof on people by going to lunch together. It was agreed to split the cost equally, naturally I pigged out to take advantage of that. (sadly I wasn't the only one) Lots of people were looking at us and finally a tip seeking waitress said we were "such a dapper bunch"... a half dozen of us descended on her.
stepka Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 It sounds like you had a fun day--let us know if you land the part.
kdark Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 17 goldpile clones? There wasn't a lonely woman within 500 yards...

Lizzie60 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 anytime my dear. I notice you don't put quotes"" when you quote another post. It may confuse the feeble of mind. Oh it's OK.. I don't post for those..
White Flower Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Oh it's OK.. I don't post for those.. Most of us are quick-witted enough to get it. Good luck GP! I hope you get the part. You should get your own SAG card and not worry about splitting the pay.
Athena Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 You should get your own SAG card Yeah, or else HIS name will be up in the Credits, not yours!
Athena Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Oh, and I too played an Extra part in two movies... one was with Dick Van Dyke, lol, fairly old boy -- born in 1925 he is, so not like your Jennifer Aniston date! My advice to you for the Screen Test, should you be called to do it, is to be Natural... that's what they look for, for the character to be believable... so relax and good luck!
Author Gold Pile Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 or else HIS name will be up in the Credits, not yours!Good Point! I may get a new career out of this. (and a date with Jen) Good luck GP! I hope you get the part. You should get your own SAG card and not worry about splitting the pay. If I actually land this gig, then I'll get a card...I'm sure more roles would come my way. Act natural hey? I was planning to do a cross between John Wayne and Truman Capote
