Working together?

I have a question for ya'll. My boyfriend works at the same place I do, but we are on different shifts. He works overnights, and I work evenings. When I do get to see him at work, it's only briefly. His parents also work with him on overnights, as odd as that sounds. The whole family works there, lol.

I'm only working part time and want to go full time. I talked to my manager and he said that there is a position for overnights that's temporary, but it will get me some good evaluations and better chances at getting a full time position. I am afraid that working on the same shift may put tension on us. It's going great right now and we get along, but I think what if he gets burned out on seeing me? Or what if we have a fight or breakup? Then it would be awkward. Knowing myself, I may quit if this happened. Though right now the economy is rough and I really need this job. I also get paid more for this voluntary work. I have a student loan that needs paid off as well as some medical issues, so this extra money would be a great help.

Has anyone here ever worked with their significant other? If so, how did it go?

It TOTALLY varies depending on the couple. Have you ever done any kind of a project together? Like cleaning or building something together? How did you do with that? I think my BF and I would be good working at a job together. My XH and I met working on the job and did well together. But I know there are guys I have dated that there is no way I could ever work with. But if I were you, I really would talk to the BF about it to see how he feels, too. I realize it's equally his job and yours...but have you ever watched Seinfeld? The two Georges... LOL
