fishtaco
I totally get that and I know I have been guilty of responding. What gets me is when women gang up on women (it's not something that men do generally). That's hot.
collegekid491
Ya, we all know that its only guys, I mean, I've never seen a girl disrespect a guy <-insert sarcasm here. Fact of the matter here is people are giving an opinion, you don't like their opinion its your right to disagree, but doesn't make yours any more valid.
JohnnyBlaze
Some people bait, some people are just outright blatant, and some wade into controversial waters. It's all in how you see it (except for the first one, of course). The problem is that this place is completely open. As such, you have to expect that some people may well be disgusted by something you said or did. Exactly, but if we let one man or one woman (or even a few of them) turn is into man or woman haters, then who is the one hurt the most? Ourselves. It's conditioning. We may not want to, but with enough repetition, it happens. If a dog gets whacked across the nose with the New York Times six days running, it won't matter to him that the Sunday paper happens to be the Boston Globe; it's still a newspaper. You can refer to me by name...I know you mean me. Just like those aborted fetuses, I wasn't born yesterday ya know. I should find that disgusting...but I'm just too busy finding it funny!! ROFL!!! So, nachos from the Chevron is NOT considered eating out? Wow, total mind-blow... Cheap dinner, and you're getting something blown. Where's the problem? That's true in life also. I'm probably gonna get gored for this but guys tend to not take things personally like women do. Maybe it's because in the distant past we were more able to do actual serious physical harm to each other? No telling. All I know is that women will often fight so dirty among themselves it's almost embarrassing. I can't tell if you hate each other or just want excitement. Distant past? How distant is last Saturday? There are still alleyways near bars for just such reasons. You have a beef with a guy, you two step outside, beat the living crap out of each other, call it finished and walk away. You're right, though. Guys go and fight and get it over with. Women, on the other hand, seem to develop these massive vendettas that last for ages. They're not happy until the other woman is cowering in the corner of a padded room, muttering to herself over and over again. Really, when you compare how a mad woman reacts to a guy versus how a mad woman reacts to another woman, us guys get off pretty easy! Stalking behaviour is weird and plain annoying. It's not stalking; I'm just curious. ...by the way, you're out of milk. Got to be careful now! Wuggle is sitting beside me and he might wonder if I suddenly start clutching my chest Right, I'm sure he'd question that. The only reason we question events like that is to know what we have to do to get the same reaction again. I am also disgusted by all the male posters ... This place sucks.. Only on nipples. Otherwise, we lick.
Trialbyfire
This thread looks like it's needing another one of these. ------------------------------------- My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table. My wife asked, 'Do you know her?' 'Yes,' I sighed, 'she's my old girlfriend. I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many & years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.' 'My God!' says my wife, 'Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?' And that's how the fight began..... -------------------------
Art_Critic
I am kinda disgusted by a certain number of male posters who find it funny to spew disrespectful things about women. We're crazy, slutty, pms'ers apparantly who deserve to be slandered. I don't think it is fair to point the finger at male posters for the disrespectful things that get posted on LS... While it is true that there are a few male posters who post some hate filled messages I also have seen longterm female posters also post arrogant disrespectful posts as well.. I understand that you are talking about a gender war but I think in general there are many posters male and female just posting on every thread trying to spread their version of trash. It isn't just women haters that I have a problem with, it is any poster who posts on threads they have no clue what they are talking about then they resort to showing or trying to show they are superior than the other posters who are giving advice or other posters requesting advice.. As far as the gender haters here.. well.. they are here.. we have to live with them or ignore them.. that is what the ignore button is used for.. as I have discovered many times in the recent months... Well said Art. Completely agree with you. As far as the gender haters here.. well.. they are here.. we have to live with them or ignore them.. (I'm thinking of the male gender-haters as I'm writing this) I don't want to ignore them, though... and I'm not sure why. My gut tells me in all that drivel there's a grain of truth somewhere - something that shouldn't be ignored. I'm not convinced they really hate women... it's more they're really really angry with them for some reason. When I read their posts, I always wonder if the rest of the general population of straight guys out there harbor those same ill thoughts about women, on some level, swimming somewhere in all that testosterone. It scares me a little.

grogster
LS wasn't always like this. I find it kind of sad that it's eroded to this point. That's very true. And from a consumer view, these anti-women guys aren't particularly, funny, clever or witty. Their posts, more often than not, are drearily written, not thought out and unimaginative. As if mind numbing repetition can substiute for thought. Their lame mediocrity makes them poor advocates for the misogyny they espouse. No style; no thought.

Women, on the other hand, seem to develop these massive vendettas that last for ages. They're not happy until the other woman is cowering in the corner of a padded room .... I know. It's pretty rare for a guy to be anything near as merciless and unrelenting as a normal woman can be. On the other hand, if I'm leaving someone in the cave to look after the kids I might want that sort of attitude toward threats in her.

They're not happy until the other woman is cowering in the corner of a padded room, muttering to herself over and over again. Really, when you compare how a mad woman reacts to a guy versus how a mad woman reacts to another woman, us guys get off pretty easy! This is unfortunately true. Most guys who have been cheated and dumped have dealt with it and got over it. I have many female friends who still have massive grudges, many years old, they simply don't know how to let go. They think that if they let go and focus on something else, that they're "letting them off easy". Example: My friend stole a guy from this poor low self esteem chick. The LSE chick was depressed for months and tried to get him back and wanted to break them up. This happened several years ago and nothing has happened since. However, my friend still can't let go, she obsesses about her every day, wants her dead, plots against her and tries to make her life miserable in every way. HER: I will cut her fcking head off and bring it to my boyfriend!!!!! HER: I hate her, I want to kill them both sometimes. She lost a massive amount of respect in my eyes, simply because I don't like idiocy and people who hold grudges. Don't people realize how unattractive this kind of behavior is? I've rarely seen guys threatening to beat someone to a bloody pulp, once everything is over.

My gut tells me in all that drivel there's a grain of truth somewhere - something that shouldn't be ignored. I'm not convinced they really hate women... it's more they're really really angry with them for some reason. I think some posters here assume I and maybe some others are members of the he-man woman haters club when in reality I (we're) not. A lot of guys have spent 15+ years in post-graduate level instruction on the nature of women. Some get bitter but many learn and simply accept the lessons learned. For instance, I have observed that the more a man earns, the better quality women he tends to attract. While obviously it's possible for a poor guy to land a real prize, in the spirit of the race not always going to the swift, that may be true, but it's not the way to bet. So some men get bitter, some deny reality, and some learn to work within the framework that exists. I and many others are of the last sort. When I read their posts, I always wonder if the rest of the general population of straight guys out there harbor those same ill thoughts about women, on some level, swimming somewhere in all that testosterone. It scares me a little. Don't be afraid little girl. They are not in most cases ill thoughts so much as thoughts you and others have been trained to think ill of.

Trialbyfire
Let's not forget the repetitive drone of: "My wife is the only woman who wears rainbow pantaloons. Other women wear fake ones or g-strings, which proves they'll rip a man's heart out, if he says "peep" without her permission. Guys, don't put up with a woman who doesn't wear the ORIGINAL rainbow pantaloons. I doubt you'll find one with the right label and since I'm so lucky to have her, there's no way I would let her go, unless she changes to thongs. Then I would kick her to the curb!"
