winsmith-84 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Say it's something casual like lunch at a restaurant that doesn't wait you - like a sandwich store or whatever. Not somewhere where you have a waiter etc... Should the guy pay or what's the rule on this? And how do you guys do it? I say, just be like - "hey what do you want?" and then order her order with your order.
ruggy Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 is it a date or a drink meet? A real first date. You should pay. A drink, let her pay for herself and you pay for yours.
prettybaby Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I don't think there's any rule if it's just a casual drink / lunch thing where it isn't even 100% clear whether it's supposed to be a romantic date of some sort. So it's okay to split the bill in such situations. Although, I have to admit, if the guy insists on paying for both of us, he does score a bonus point as far as I'm concerned. It's a nice gesture. And lunch dates are generally fairly cheap, so I don't have to feel too guilty about it
