I was just tryin to get some perspective if giving a mix cd would be a good gift for someone you love, or is that too cheesy and old fashioned. If it isn't, I was wondering if the songs on it should all be ones you kno they rly like. I like all types of music, but she's a little pickier, but there are songs that can rly convey how I feel, but I'm pretty sure they're ones that she wouldn't enjoy because they're country. So basically I'm wondering is it mostly the gesture, or actually what's on it too?

Is it for a b-day or an actual event or just because? Those types of things tend to work better if they are randomly given. (in my experience) Do you know what types of music she listens to? There are songs in pretty much every genre, just have to know where to look.

It would be just because, and she likes to listen to a lot of hard rock, I was able to think of some songs from that, but since I rly like all music in the end it was a complete mix.

Its cheesy, but you say it like its a bad thing lol.

I still will occasionally do this, more to give them the Bon Jovi bug lol, but its a good idea. Gives them something to remember you by that can just kinda be in the background as they do something. Just don't put strictly love songs in there... put some fun songs on it, make it something they can actually listen to in numerous moods instead of just when they just have 'teddy bear feelings' lol

Ok hard rock is a harder but not impossible genre to do it for. And from my experience a lot of girls like some of the cheesy stuff. Ya its a cliche, but one that seems to be going out of style. I think it is just because guys don't think of it as much anymore. If you need help on some of the songs let me know and I'm sure we could figure out something.

No, it's not too old fashioned! Mixes are one of the most heartwarming gifts you can give someone, IMHO. I recommend trying to pick songs you know she'll love. Make it to make her happy. Good luck!

I wouldn't do it as a move to win over a potential.

It speaks to you being too whipped already and that is a turn off.

If she is already your girlfriend then it can be heartwarming as others suggested.

BUt I wouldn't make a whole CD of "lovers lament" stuff. Put some fun songs on there too and tell her there are some songs you think she'll like and some songs that make you think of her.

When they come on, interspersed through the others, she'll go "awwwww" and they will each have an impact.
