Scarlett513 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Suggestions for how to break things off with someone you're casually dating (not talking about a long-term relationship here). I need to know how to end things with someone who is really great, but just not right for me.... Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings and try to keep things amicable if at all possible. Thanks.
zhsoj Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I'm a big fan of the straight forward approach. The disappearing act, the letting him/her down overly gently B.S... That's all more about protecting yourself. Just be straight forward and honest. As long as it isn't vicious or vindictive it's cool. And don't let there be room for "hope". And personally I would say don't text it. Doesn't have to be in person, but a phone call would be nice.
ruggy Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Tell the victim the truth and then drop communication. Don't say you want to be friends. He doesn't Don't tell him keep in touch. He won't. Ripe the bandaid off fast. Hurts less.
Sith Apprentice Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I told my ex "I met someone else and now you're tail lights."
