It's been a long journey to this happening, but I am happy that it's happened, because I feel like we were always meant to be friends and not lovers. However, we met on an online dating site, so it was unavoidable. Now here's the thing: he is totally, blissfully dating his girlfriend, which I think is very cute and I am happy for him. We openly talk about their relationship and I am encouraging of their relationship, because I just want him to be happy. I guess I'm asking if this has the potential to be a tricky situation. I'm not sure if his gf knows we are hanging out. I've told him I'd like to meet her eventually and be introduced to her. Should I proceed with caution, so is this a kosher situation?

When you say hanging out, is it JUST as friends or are you two connecting on an emotional level as well? I hope his girlfriend knows about you. If she doesn't, then this just smells like trouble later.

If she doesn't, then this just smells like trouble later. I hope his gf knows about me, too! When we hang out it's like hanging out with a friend. On a scale of 1 - 10, my sexual/romantic feelings for him are at a 1.5, but the more we hangout, the more the number goes down. We do connect on an emotional level though, but it's like how I can talk to my friends about my feelings and thoughts. He actually told me a lot of his worries about his relationship (that he likes her too much and is afraid of screwing it up) and I helped him through those thoughts. The only thing I find odd, is that we only dated for one month back in May 08. We just really get one another as people. I am completely at ease with him and we enjoy each other's company. I'm not worried about anything happening between us, I'm just worried about me potentially causing a problem with his relationship, which is why I told him I'd like to meet his gf.
