He called me on monday and had a good conversation, he told me he was going to call me when he gets back on Thursday. Never did. Now it is Tue. and I have not heard from him. What should I do?

Call and ask him how he is, how was your trip. Dont mention his not calling, see how it goes. If he doesnt return your call, or doesnt call again - thats different.

It seems very strange that he SAID he would call and then hasn't...but I'd still take 2sure's advice and give it a go yourself. If you still don't hear back from him, I'd wait a few days and give him one more call for good measure. If still no word, I'm sorry to say but he is a bad egg and incapable of proper communication. Just went through something very similar. With a woman, not a dude, but very similar. I guess it can happen to either gender. They just change their mind and move on to the next victim, I mean person. It is just how it is. Don't run after him. It is not worth the energy.

Yeah, you got burned but I don't think she should just give up. One phone call is not running after him and doesn't take very much energy.

I agree call him, once, be chirpy even if you get his voicemail, keep it light and do not mention the fact he was going too call you or going out again, just "Hi just thought I'd call to say hi and see how your trip went". If you do not hear back then that is another matter.

If you do not hear back then that is another matter. Yeah if you do not hear back then you will be going thru the same crap I'm going through. Four months and his dumb butt drops off the face of the planet. Nobody seems to be able to give any advice after that point though. I think because then the consensus becomes "Dump the mo'fo!"
