MissDee Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 In every relationship I've ever been in, I've always had this outstanding issue. Whenever I'm with someone, no matter WHAT, my mind always wanders. I always day dream about what it would be like to kiss or make out with someone other than my boyfriend. Sometimes I'll have these made up stories running around in my head for weeks, even months on end. I've never cheated on any of my boyfriends - physically. If and when I decided that I did want to reach out to another guy I would break up with my current boyfriend to do it. I would never do it while I was in a relationship though. At the same time, I mine as well should have because I would be thinking about this other guy constantly until I can't stand it anymore - then I'd break up with them to pursue the next guy, and I end up doing the same thing to them... and the cycle continues. Why does this happen to me? I've tried keeping myself occupied as possible but it always happens. I'll see someone in one of my classes, or even work, and my imagination runs wild. Sometimes it only lasts for a few days and it ends but sometimes it continues extensively. Am I just bored with the guy I'm with, or what? I really don't know how to approach this situation. :(

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with fantasizing about other people, but it sounds that you're kinda obsessing, in a sense of completely giving in to these fantasies. Most people who have these fantasies (myself included) will maybe enjoy them for a couple of minutes/hours, but then will definitely shrug them off. It's not just of devotion to your partner, but also because of common sense - there will always be someone hotter out there, so why bother making a big deal out of it every time...
