Template Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 You know, one of the good things that resulted from my breakup is that I got to connect closer with friends past and present. I even had the opportune pleasure of finding out some (a lot of them actually), were actually better friends that I thought they were. Although all of them are halfway across the country, many are willing to come down and help me out. So I'm grateful. I gotten to reconnect with some through Facebook. So what is the purpose of this rant. MY EX REQUESTED TO ADD ME AS A FRIEND ON FACEBOOK! WHAT THE ****! I just hit ignore, but damn, I really had to hold back in sending back a message "F*** Y**, do you even know what friends mean?!? jesus" Y'know, you'd think I'd still be sad because I'm still grieving the breakup, but strangely enough, the first emotion to come out was just pure anger...
foxh1234 Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 My ex did the same. I don't understand them, lol. I had to close my account because she was bugging me so much. I really think they do it for selfish reasons like making themselves feel better and to help with their guilt. Hitting ignore is the right move.
Ronni_W Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 strangely enough, the first emotion to come out was just pure anger... Anger is a step in the right direction...soon it'll be the emotion of "I don't give a freakin' rat's ass!" I do also think that it can be trying to relieve own guilt, and/or pretending to be all noble and "healthy" and "I have it in me to be friends." Which are all dysfunctional motives, of course. But, IME, both men and women can engage in this type of crap.

I had a buddy of mine that I use to hang out with all of the time. Shortly after my breakup we contacted each other after almost a year of not talking (not for any particular reason). Got together one night had some drinks and caught up. It was fantastic.
