I'm 37 years old. I've been married, divorced and have had several long term relationships otherwise. I've been dating a woman for 7 weeks. She is amazing. We've clicked on so many levels and I've completely fallen for her. I've never had feelings like this for anyone. I told her I loved her last week and I had tears in my eyes. She cried too and said it back. I made love to her for the first time on the weekend. Again there were tears on both sides. I've never felt so much emotion. She told me she loved me again yesterday and I welled up. Tears of joy.

I've never felt emotion so intense that it made me cry. I think it's amazing.

I was just wondering what you think of guys that cry.

Their in touch with their feelings. I cry too. I never had a complex about it either. But then again, I'm 6'2" 225lbs broad shoulders, trained in Judo, and work as a bodyguard. Oh, I always carry my .45 caliber handgun, and regardless of what I wear it's obvious I'm packing heat, so I don't get a lot of grief about my tears, especially from other men. I wouldn't sweat it bro', it's natural and tears have a way of cleansing your system of unhealthy toxins.

although I find nothing wrong with men who cry of joy or are being very sensitive.. for me.. it's a turn-off if the guy is over-sensitive.. :o

Sorry but unless you were teenagers saying it for the first time that would make me cry. :p

Men being in touch with their feelings is one thing - at least you say you only had tears in your eyes and weren't bawling.

Something like this would make me so uncomfortable and be a turn off.

But it looks like she doesn't share my opinion on the topic, so good for you.

I really don't care what's OK or acceptable. I show my emotions the way I wish. No one else has to live my life :)

Only if you're gay.

I like this one.

Congratulations on finding love.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

It only should matter what your new lady thinks and obviously she's OK with it. You two are inlove and it's mushy-romantic..You're feeling alot of emotions and crying is a release.

Now, if you cry watching The Brady Bunch then that's just wrong..LOL.

Don't worry, just enjoy what you have and if you want to cry out of joy, do it!

When my son marched off to war, and when he returned safe, home, I cried.

I hope he slapped you.

Chicken****s like you slap, men punch.

I would never punch a crying man. It's a matter of principle.

Can you even make a fist with that limp wrist?

Not counting when I was a child I count 4 times since I was 10 that I have cried. and Im 24 now. perhaps I'm just more emotionally tempered than most but If I know someone is prone to crying I get pissed off when they do. I could not possibly accept tears more than once a year for a man.

That said, unless you cry all the time then its a beautiful thing to cry over love. just keep it infrequent or I am going to make you turn in your penis in to the official society of real men.

I've welled up before while making love to past loves. It's supposed to be a beautiful experience so why not cry? Seems like she shares the same emotions as you do. If I did this with my current she'd run for the hills though, she's a stoic person and has never shown me much emotion.

Here's another angle on the question: Is it ok for women to cry?

Since this is a modern age of gender equality, the answer to this question is necessarily the same as that of the question of whether it is ok for men to cry.

My goodness, Ram-- you and I sure seem to have a lot in common! We've both been to... uh, the same places. We both agree that it's healthy and normal for men to cry. Men are human too, just like we women are, and they have feelings too-- and men who don't admit to their feelings and ALLOW themselves to experience those feelings (unbridled laughter or unabridged tears) can't possibly be healthy. So men can and indeed SHOULD feel free to cry.

Oh, and that .45-- is it a 1911 Colt? I love mine.

Two stories:

I dated a guy once who broke down BAWLING (no kidding - mouth agape and audible sobs) when we were watching Angels In The Outfield.

There is a part in the movie when the father signs over his son to the state -- it was during that part.

I heard something behind me on the sectional where he was sitting so I turned around and OH MY GAWD. So I ask him what's wrong and he says loudly while still sobbing, "I still feel like my mom abandoned meeeeeeee!" WAAAAAA!

Yeah -- his mom had divorced his dad when he was 18.

That was our last date. And I still make fun of him - everyone knows about that story and at cocktail parties I am asked to retell it sometimes. It always gets a laugh.

Freak.

My husband is 320 pounds of muscle. He played professional rugby in Australia and was a heavy weight boxer here in the US.

He loves working out and is a real man's man. All the guys want to be friends with him and all the girls want to date him.

At appropriate emotional moments he will tear up. And he has cried on two occasions.

One was when his grandfather died. The other was when I had to get on a plane and leave him until who knows when.

He is still the most manly sexy guy on the planet to me.

So there you go. If it is a moving emotional situation that is understandable.

If it is Angels In The Outfield --- not so much. :p:lmao:
