Ignorant&Innocent Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 well I want to ask this girl to prom and I've already heard that she really wants me to ask her. The problem is I don't know how. I'm fairly sure I'm not going to get turned down. She's been dropping hints. But I don't want to be lame or boring and just straight up say "do you want to go to prom with me?" we have a lot of fun together and we love to laugh. so I'm looking for a way to ask her in a funny, creative way, but not too cheesy, right? I want to make her laugh and think it was cute. That's the way she wants to be asked I'd love to hear your ideas.
westrock Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 so I'm looking for a way to ask her in a funny, creative way, but not too cheesy, right? I want to make her laugh and think it was cute. That's the way she wants to be asked You are way overthinking this. Here's what you do: With a big smile on your face, look her straight in the eyes and simply say: "do you want to go to prom with me?"
HazelW Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 lets face it- prom is cheesy so be MEGA cheesy it'll make her laugh dont publicly embarras the girl just keep it between the two of you maybe invite her to meet you somewhere e.g. the park/beach buy a BIG cookie & get 'prom?' iced on it ahhh the options are endless let me know what you decide to do:) x
Author Ignorant&Innocent Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 ok thanks everyone. Her birthday is coming up soon so I decided to ask her then (good idea?) its on the 26th We have this game before fifth period when we're on the third floor. We count as many people we can doing a certain thing or wearing a certain thing. It's usually something ridiculous or dumb. It's just fun (i know it's stupid but we're really bored and we make anything fun) Anyway her friend is going to make the rules that day and say ok find people with balloons and a big sign. I'll be down there with a sign saying Happy Birthday Meagan and on the other side it will ask her to go to prom with me. tada! how's that? pretty cheesy, right, but effective, no?
westrock Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 and on the other side it will ask her to go to prom with me. Not a good idea. You run the risk of her feeling embarrassed in front of her friends and her then feeling pressured to say yes. Listen to Hazel who has the right advice: dont publicly embarras the girl just keep it between the two of you
GoneButNotForgotten Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Yup, just keep it between the two of you. Hell man you have it easy. You basically know the answer. After a while girls learn to play the head games. That's when all the rest of us come here clueless. Na just playing. Keep it simple and ask her. She won't remember how you asked her, but if you play the correct cards. She will remember prom night for the rest of her life.
Author Ignorant&Innocent Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 ah ok I see. You're right. I don't want to put her on the spot like that in front of everyone. what if I still do the board and balloon thing Happy Birthday, but I don't write anything about prom on there. I'll ask her when I get up there stairs when her friends are not there watching. Is that still ok?
GoneButNotForgotten Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 The Happy Birthday part is fine. As long as she doesn't feel put on the spot or embarrassed it should be fine.
