What are the pro's & cons of each & which would you actually go for? Here goes: 1.) Childhood sweetheart - meeting at school & or around the corner 2.) Through a friend/parties/social gatherings/blind dates 3.) Through the family - being "speficially" introduced, eg, arranged 4.) Nightclubs/bars/pubs 5.) On Holiday 6.) Internet/chatrooms/message boards 7.) Dating Agencies/Local Ads 8.) Workplace 9.) Through religion/church If i have missed any, please add, but those are the most popular ones. I know that with every circumstance, 2 people can fall out or fall in love just as easily, even if in a supermarket!! But it would be interesting to know of the relationships that have lasted and still going, in what category had they met.... Oh, just to add that I am certainly not in a position to date again for a very long time, however, as I've failed miserably in 3 of the 9 options up there I am not at a bit of a loss really!

You say you've failed miserably, does that mean you are giving up?

My mom does a lot of the major budgeting for our provincial university, and she told me libraries get a TON of donations annually, because a lot of couples that meet in college meet while studying in the library - people tend to go to the same spot, and regulars get to talking. Also, meeting randomly seems to be a pretty big one when I think of the many married couples I know (parents of friends). My mom and dad met on an airplane. My bestfriends mom and dad met in line at the supermarket. My other friends parents met on the bus. So I guess you never know just where you'll meet that special someone. I don't think theres any one place that stands out above all others for meeting the person you'll marry and be with for the long haul... Mail order brides maybe? ;p

Viking Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Recently, there is this girl in my class who I think is quite cute. I don't know if shes got a boyfriend or what, but I was thinking to myself yesterday, "It'd sure be fun to bump into her downtown at one of the bars..." and lo and behold, I went to a church service aimed at college aged kids and she was there and it made me think that I might want to ask her out. Your best bet is to figure out what you like and then go to places that you like as that's where you're going to find women who will be a good match for you.
