Noone in their right mind would shop in Dubai over NYC unless they couldnt get a visa to enter the US.

 

You dont need a visa to get to Dubai as a US person but not sure the OP is a US citizen? But why would you go to Dubai if you didnt live in the Gulf, Africa or unless someone forced you too or you went for business? Unless of course, you are a golddigger or a man from a country where prostition is illegal? or you are a nonresident Indian looking for tax breaks? Otherwise? Its just tacky tacky tacky. Its the Las Vegas of the Middle East.

 

I was just in Dubai last week. The shopping festival is on if you go quickly and there are big sales on. But there are big sales on in every city in the world right now.

 

There are no stores that you dont have in NY other than Harvey Nichols and some of the UK chains which you wouldnt fly to shop at, and the prices are higher than NYC. All the designer shops are in NY and the prices are better. The city is a pit (the national bird is the crane there are so many unfinished buildings and the economy is dead with RE down almost 70%) If you like gold that shines so brightly it could blind you (read tacky bling in most cases) there is the gold souk.

 

There are some lovely beach hotels and if you go with a family and you dont leave the compound its a quick flight relatively speaking to get some sun if you live in Europe and dont want to go to the Caribbean but still not a first choice in my mind.

My apologies to the OP. That was unkind. Dubai can be lovely You can stay at fabulous hotels, go shopping at all the lovely stores, there are great restaurants, and you can soak up the sun when its cold in NYC etc etc. I go there for business and it lots of traffic jams etc etc etc. And I do shop when I am there. They dont have malls where I live. You can get more done in the Dubai mall in an hour than I can in 4 in my town.

Who flies to Dubai from NYC for a weekend to shop? Don't you need a visa to get into that Middle Eastern Country?

 

If she's from a western country.. who flies to Dubai to go shopping for A weekend... it would take about 10 hours to fly there ...

Plus he is not a heartless human being he just plays that role for his business sake. You all are taking this Dubai thing wayyyy out of the original context. I was simply saying , he offers me trips to Dubai most of Europe and NYC because he is working and always trying to see me every chance he can. I can’t leave the states right now because of some legal reasons (Which he does not know about) but he has offered that’s my only point. I am not tacky and im not a gold digger and i met him through a friend i don’t even date that often. but he charmed me and he promised me a future that most women couldn’t refuse but i declined and thats that. He and i will continue a mature friendship, and to all of you bitter sounding women i have never dated or had any type of relationship with a married man obviously you all have that bitterness in your tone of text shows. lol I feel sorry for those of you who have experienced this and been done wrong...sucks. But your purpose should now be to educate young "impressionable" girls like me from making the mistakes you all have.....be strong mend your broken wings by telling your stories but[/FONT][/COLOR]
