If you knew me personally, you would know I plan to live to be 127.

I am currently 18, will be 19 on Friday. I run 3-4 days a week, and lift weights 3-4 days a week. I do not eat sweets or drink sweet drinks.

I remain as stress free as possible through meditation and other techniques I have picked up from studying Buddhism.

If anyone has other suggestions on how to make it there, let me know.

Thanks!

I've recently been studying the diet and lifestyle of the Okinawan people of the Ryukyu Islands. Not only is longevity on their side but also the quality of life their elderly have...because honestly what good is being 127 if you're stuck in a hospital bed.

All the best...say hi to my great grandkids

And why exactly 127? I know 104 is a popular number in my family because my great grandmother and her two sisters all died at that age.

Numerology perhpas? I mean 1+2+7 equals 10 and 1+0=1. Not that I know what 1 signifies ;)

Hahaha.. I might live longer than you.. apparently sex is good .. ;)

Ten years from now you'll realize that the plans/dreams made in your youth are no longer the dreams of the maturer (improved) you.

If quality of life isn't an issue then the following will help you achieve 127.

Don't drive anywhere....accidents.

Don't compete for the affections of a woman........ the other guy might kill ya.

Don't try to advance in your career.......stress is a killer.

Hell, I don't know. Everything in moderation??

Sweets won't keep you from living until 127 if you don't overdo it. Other than what you are doing, learn to govern your emotions so you don't let anger, fear and other negatives rule your mind. Your mind plays a major role in determining longevity as it basically rules your body's reactions.

Drink a small amount of wine every day or every other day. The reserveratrol contained in the wine has been shown to be a powerful antioxidant. Also, eat lots of clean, raw fruits and veggies... Drink a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice every other day for its pure Vitamin C.

Exercise is extremely important but don't overdo it. Make a plan to walk for 30 minutes every single day of your life. What you do at the gym or elsewhere will be an added feature. You'd be surprised what walking will do for you.

See your doctor EVERY SINGLE YEAR for a thorough physical. Catching disease early, a lot of which can appear through no fault of your own, is important if you want to live a long life. Don't get obsessed about your health either.

Have your teeth cleaned every fourth months and make sure the dentist does a full examination once a year. Your teeth can cause major health problems for you if problems are left unattended.

Who you marry will be important. The wrong partner will drive you to an early grave...you'll know exactly what I mean if you make the same mistakes many others whose names are in today's obituaries made. Marry an excellent partner and be one as well. Statistics show that married men live longer.

Don't boat in the Hudson River when flocks of geese are flying in the flight patterns around LaGuardia Airport.

Live in a city where the air pollution is low. Don't hang around people or places where there is secondary smoke from cigarettes. Of course, never smoke yourself.

Drive carefully, drive defensively and look both ways before crossing the streets.

Avoid bars and other places where drunks may pull guns or knives and do you in. Be careful not to be in your bank when it gets robbed by armed thugs who may be trigger happy.

There are many ways of dying besides health problems so just be very careful in where you go and with whom you associate. Hang around positive people who take care of themselves and who are supportive of what you do in life.

By the time you are 40 or 50, research will have found many, many things that will help you in your quest to live a long life. You're lucky that way.

Save a lot of books to read. After you pass 105, not many people will have much to do with you except on your birthdays. Most will probably not even understand what you are saying. Pay somebody to remind you to brush your teeth, bath and keep the odors out of your living quarters.

When you're 115, be sure when you take your teeth out you leave them somewhere where you can find them later when you need them.

Being constantly in awe of the world and being completely grateful for what you have and what people do for you will add ten years to your life right off the bat.

I've heard that having a severely calorie restricted diet can make you live longer. Obviously you would have to optimize the nutritional value of what food you do take in, though.

Personally I'd rather not live that long. It just doesn't seem like it would be very pleasant.

Leave out the word "severely" but you are very correct, a calorie restricted diet...one with excellent foods but which falls a bit short of the required 2500 calories per day required by most men has been proven to add to longevity. The idea is to always watch the quantity of what you eat and understand that feeling a little bit hungry will never kill you.

Research has also found that people who remain reasonably the same weight throughout their adult lives, without radical changes back and forth, have a tendency to live longer. Keep your weight constant within a certain healthy range.

Why would you want to live that long? Realistically after 80, you are going to look so bad that you will scare small children. You won't be able to have any fun really, clubs and bars are out, sports are going to be out and so is driving and sex. After you hit 100 you will look even freakier. You will bore everyone you come in contact with and your family will start to avoid you. Also most likely you would end up in old foloks home, sitting in a chair and watching TV day after day after day wishing you were younger. I mean really whats the point?

I would rather enjoy life while I am young and do the things that maybe I am not supposed to do. The only way I would want to live to be 127 is if I stopped aging after 40 or 50 the latest.

Actually, have you seen the picture of the 128 year old woman? She doesn't look that bad!

I think you bin spendin' too much time with Chris250.... :p:D

By the time I am an old man the average lifespan will probably be expanded and older people will probably live more active lives so I wouldn't mind living that long.

Shoot! already been in one when I was passenger... friend drove us into a light pole going 60 mph and his airbags didn't deploy. I still have annoying neck aches from this day.
