i think people should take responsibility for their actions and not blame others for what they believe.

 

whether what your girlfriend's priest believes to be true or not.. your girlfriend shouldn't let that affect her beliefs.

 

beliefs go deeper than just the mind. it is a spiritual thing* and if she is truly Christian she needs to accept the reality of things..

 

and a fact is, that it doesn't matter what religion you are -but if you are 'unequally yolked' -(i.e. one person is atheist & the other lets say...jewish) then there will always be much strife in the relationship & it will be harder in the long run to stay connected.

 

it's good to have a common ground the rock or foundation that a couple can build on*

 

i'm being neutral here & not picking a belief (or unbelief) to focus on. it's just a fact of humanity.

 

it seems as tho you do care about your girlfriends beliefs (as u should) & so since she has been so bothered by the priest maybe she can find another Christian church. but you can't let people rub you the wrong way. it's just part of life.
