I think I made a mistake and would like your opinion on this.

I was all by myself Friday night and was bored to death. I kept thinking about this guy I went to school with. I didn't have his phone number but found him on Facebook. We aren't friends or anything but I sent him a friend request anyway.

After the fact I realized I had sent him a request at 2 in the morning... How will he interpret this?

Your looking into it way too much. Most guys would just think O look someone i know. I know that is what I do. Most guys don't really look into stuff like that too much. And does facebook even tell him when you sent the invite?

I'm going out on a limb here, but I think he'll probably surmise that you were awake at 2 in the morning.

Maybe he'll think you are a couple time zones away from him...

Yes it does put a time stamp on the request...

When I get a request from someone I barely know, I always wonder "what the hell does he want"... :) But now I realized I just did the same thing...

Yeah, I just don't want him to think "she had nothing else better to do than thinking about me"... That's what one of my girlfriends said to me...

I didn't even realize it said what time you were requested as a friend. Huh. I really doubt he will, either.

I'll respond. He will most likely interpret it exactly how you think he will. You want to reconnect with him because he was on your mind. Question is, now what're you going to do about it?

Hon that's kind of a silly thought your friend had, if you contact him in the morning he could think "she is thinking of me when she should be working?" or if you contact him in the afternoon he could think "she should be out for lunch and is searching for me instead?" or "out in the evening with her friends and instead she is cooped up at home searching for me"

I mean the list of things he could be thinking is endless and literally could be applied to any hour of the day...Don't worry about it. Obviously you are thinking about him, you contacted him.

We often read into our actions and make them much bigger than how they will be interpreted and received on the other end.
