Listening to your gut feeling. Even when you don't want something to be so, does it usally not fail you? Anyone regret not listening to their gut sooner? Or their instincts were actually wrong?

I very rarely get instincts. I usually either fantasize, or analyze. I am not good at reading people, and I have never been able to really foresee the outcome of things. I believe that intuition improves over time as one collects more data points.
mehim Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 90% of the time its accurate. so listen to your gut.
unacceptable62 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I am wrong on a lot of my gut instincts, so I tend to hesitate and analyze things.
zenith Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I often listen to my gut... it's usually right around meal times but if I listen to it everytime, I would be eating non-stop

Never --> unless you can articulate and rationalize why something seems the way it does, you can easily make a mistake, because you cannot distinguish what part of your perception is caused by facts, and what by irrational feelings and fears. People believe in this stupid **** just because they only remember the times when their gut feeling was right. Also, women are a lot more likely to trust gut feelings, because this provides an easy excuse to be irrational :laugh:.
Girlygirl1977 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 My gut instincts are often right but I actually don't usually listen to them. But I like to keep collecting datapoints. I find that I can be very judgemental and so for that reason, I like to give people room for my possible error. So I may have a expectation but I will let a person prove it to be true or not. Also I think pschologically it is easier to regret things we don't do versus things we do. So for that reason, I will typically let things play out (if you are talking about relationships) vs. quit early because of the potential for regret.
