sid3 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Having just experienced my own personal trainwreck in terms of the 'I'm waiting until marriage line' I am wondering if the majority of those choosing to do so only consider intercourse to count as sex. I've always considered anything beyond kissing as sex. Maybe times have changed?

Anyway, I considered anything involving genital-mucous membrane contact sex (so oral, anal, and vaginal sex). I did not consider petting sex. That being said, if you crossed your "sex" line, you crossed your sex line. Time to get back on the wagon or adapt. I'm mid-twenties, and have a far more inclusive definition of "sex" than most of my peers, if you want to gauge what other populations think. A rather large (uncomfortably so) percentage of young people these days seem to think that oral and anal sex "don't count" and that you can remain a virgin while engaging in those activities. While that might be true in letter, it certainly isn't in spirit and the attitude can (and does) lead to unsafe sex practices.
