blakely24 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I am 31yr old single mom who has never been married and seem to find myself physically attracted to younger guys. I usally don't want anything serious from them, just to HAVE SOME FUN Is this normal and ok. It's not even like most of them are stable enough to take on a 31yr old single mom but i'm not looking for marriage with a 23yr old, just the fun of it all. I look for more marriage material with the older guys. I'm I an idiot for HAVING FUN with these younger guys. Please give me some insite. B'ham, AL
amaysngrace Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 31 to 23 is not that big of an age-gap. I say enjoy it. It's your life and don't let anyone make you feel bad about what you decide to do with it. Go have fun!
clv0116 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 The whole age-gap thing is pretty much horse-crap but there are cases where it matters. If you are contemplating marriage there's a reasonable chance one or both parties might want kids, so that sort of puts an age cap on it for both parties although the age cap is probably different for men an women. For doing what you are doing ... stick to adults.
Still Trying Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Just have fun, I bet that's what you're looking for anyway, you might be surprised by some of the 23 y/os you meet. I'm generally more physically attracted to college aged women too, that is until they start talking! lol, I find it best to stick with people my own age or a little older, but that's just me, and I'm looking for more than "just fun"... (been there, done plenty of that!)

Author blakely24 Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 wish i could fid someone closer to my age to do this with but seems as if that is not the case right now... i want to be married and all that but right now that is not happening. LOL

As long as both you and the younger man have a strong understanding of the nature of your interaction, enjoy! Something to consider, though. Are you certain you're not deliberately looking for emotionally unavailable/commitmentless men?
JohnnyBlaze Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Blakely, why do you think that might be weird? I'm a 31 year old guy, and I don't think anybody here would be surprised if I listed off some of the 23 year old girls that I'm attracted to. As long as both sides know what they're in it for (and you have already stated that both sides are aware), then have fun!!

Like rollerblading or going to the movies or to a carnival? Younger guys are great for that because they are usually in pretty good shape. For sex, middle aged guys are best because they know what they are doing and take along time doing it The best thing to do is to marry a guy in his mid 40's who has a son in the early 20's.

Um...be careful with that line of thinking. As I stated in another thread yesterday, most of what I started out thinking were going to be flings, turned out to be R's instead. Not that there' anything wrong with that ! I'm 42 and married my 24 yr old Bf in oct. He also happens to be a lot more mature and committed than the 47 yr old guy I dated before him ! ( and he makes the best stepfather out of ALL the guys I dated since my daughter was born !) My theory is : ya just never know !
Lizzie60 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Come on.. have FUN!!! Life is too short.. just go out there and enjoy yourself... 31 and 23.. that's not a big deal. it's only 8 years. 8 years for me.. is a peanut.. My last 23 year old was 2 years ago.. and I was 54... THEY ARE LOTS OF FUN!!!

THEY ARE LOTS OF FUN!!! I never get the line that life is too short. i am only 30 but it feels like I have been alive for ages. To think of being alive for another 40+ years is crazy. Life is not too short. As for the OP, hey, if that is what you want to do then go for it. I won't really give my personal opinion of it since it is your life and I don't want to be the party pooper of this thread...
