I know that people have their own different views on guns. When i carry i never make it known, it defeats the point of concealing it, and stands the chance of starting commotion. Im not going to try and push my beliefs onto other people, but its sad that so many people fear guns. I would like to think that if my date did happen to find out about my gun that she would feel safer, and trust that she made the right decision that she is out with someone that would only ever use it as a last resort. The ugly truth is that times are tough and getting tougher, so the crime rate will go up, and people need to protect themselves. And not to be sexist but, women need to protect themselves. Again, not to be sexist, but women are targets. Both my mother and sister carry guns, and though they have never fired upon a person, they have had to pull them. I cant even bein to think what would have happened if they had not had a gun. So again, i know a lot of people dont agree with guns, but id like to think that a date wouldnt judge me or my personality on my carrying a gun.

Well, we're basing this discussion on the premise that your date has found out you are carrying, so saying "just keep it hidden" isn't an option in that context. Now, assuming she doesn't shut down and bolt at the first opportunity, but that she's still unsure, her next question is going to be "So why are you carrying?" What is your response?

So far you haven't told us much more than, essentially, "because I've always done it..." But I'm not even challenging that; I want to know what you tell her, because if she's even willing to stick around, any further reaction will hinge on your answer to that question.

Carrying a gun is really scary.

I'm in England and the very idea makes me shudder.

Too many innocents being shot and knifed over here.

I would run run run, and would report it too.

But I'm not up on the laws in the states, so I can't judge.

I just know to me it means something is very very wrong. :(

It would definitely make me uncomfortable. I associate guns with violence and violence is a hugely unattractive trait.
