The law says you have to be separated for a year to get a divorce in our state. So we have been separated for a year now, but we had sex during that time. It was only for a weekend, but I am wondering if that starts the 1 year over?

I had paid $200 to talk to an attorney when we first split and he told me not to have sex with any women during the separation, including my ex-wife if we really intended on getting a divorce. Now I don't have the money to go back to him so I am asking you guys what you think about this situation?

Does the time start over because we had the two days of sex, or is counting from the original separation date fine?

Thanks.

Hey ******* it's not "just sex", at least to her.. why don't you try to not have sex with her for an entire year - then consider a divorce?

You sound clueless. What do you want to do? Are you just having sex to pass time while you await the divorce? Figure out what you want.

Legally, no, it does not. You are not living together. You have not reconciled. Reconciliation is not just sex, it's an agreement by both parties to continue the marriage and to work through the reasons for the initial separation/divorce.

Good gravy!

If you think you have to start over with the year.....Who would you have to tell that you had sex?

If it's as easy as keeping a secret....Don't tell anyone!
