Aside from going out to dinner, what else do couples do? Include sport events, museums, theatre, movies, etc. And don't say sex.

I'm pretty sure that "dinner at the y" counts as sex. ;)

Couples do a LOT! They make dinner, go to movies, watch movies at home, help each other with work/schoolwork/yardwork, share hobbies, go on trips, take walks, work out together, raise a family, share a mortgage and other bills, etc.

But most importantly, they are (should be) each others' BEST support system.

Interesting. Couples pay for each others mortgage?

My BF and I have been reconciled just over 6 weeks now. In that time we have done the following... (these are just some of the things we've done)

  • Walking in the park
  • Shopping
  • Coffee (at home and coffee shops)
  • Cinema & films
  • Visited family & friends
  • Cooking
  • Talking
  • Reading to each other (newspapers, internet etc)
  • Been on holiday (snowboarding)

It is rather simple....couples do what interests them both.

So, if my hobby is skiing (ie breaking a leg) and my date enjoys it too, then we may go skiing. If my hobby is boating, then I may introduce my date to boating.

it is also good to discover if your potential partner enjoys the same things as you do. For example, I may enjoy skiing, but my date may not. If skiing is really important to me, then this may be a deal breaker and our relationship will end.

The goal of doing things together is the development of a friendship and bond together. It is also the time when each discovers if this person is the type of person that would make a lifetime partner.

It is not so much what you do together, but that you do things that both enjoy.

Yo do things that interest you both or you try to enjoy the thigs that the other likes.

I don't tipically like sports, but my boyfriend does, and sometimes I go with him to soccer or baseball games because he enjoys it, and I enjoy being with him.

But we go bowling, picnics, excercise, in summer go to the beach, water parks, horseback riding, scenic drives, camping, hiking, shopping, video games, playing pool, skiing, skating, concerts, plays, circus, carnivals, dancing, kite flying, going to the zoo, etc....

There are so many things you can do that do not involve sex.

God i need someone that can do all that stuff with me!! Hopefully soon!

It appears that you are asking God for someone :), but I as a human will give my advice....

If you would like a partner that enjoys doing the things you do, then join a club or organization formed around the activities that you enjoy doing. Then you may actually meet someone who...enjoys doing what you enjoy doing.

Hey James, anything you can do with this freezing temperature? :)

JamesM had some good suggestions, you could do fun things too like paintball or laser tag, video arcade, go-cart racing, rock climbing places, planetariums, there's places where you can go make your own pottery things like that.

Winter things could be snow tubing/sledding, flea markets or pet stores just to look at the different pets, planetariums if there are any around you, going for a drive somewhere that is special to the two of you, things like that. You make your own memories over time and sometimes you'll do outdoor activities and other times just spending down time together indoors - you can cook food with each other, make fondue, play board games, take naps, let her paint your toe nails or something, things like that.

I just noticed how many times I said "things like that" LOL!

Paint toenails? You know I am a male. Right? That fruity stuff, not for me.

My SO and I go to concerts a lot because we both enjoy music a great deal, and there is an abundance of concerts where we live. We also like seeing stand up comedy and on occasion go to the theater.

When the weather is nice we like to go kayaking or hiking, there are amazing places here for that too.

We also like to go wine tasting, out to the local pub, friends homes, we hang out with our large group of friends a lot and we're down to try just about anything.

Sometimes we just stay home and watch a movie or hang out, we cook Indian food together as well.

And I love dragging him to browse bookstores, especially if thee is a reading  I'm a bit of a book nerd.

We do lame boring stuff as well, like going to Target
