Its not a girl I wan't to marry someday or anything, but I like her and shes damn hot. Yet two of my friends say I should dump her for 2 reasons. 1 because she is older than me, so they say its strange for a guy to date a girl who is older. 2 because she is a hapkido (martial art) black belt and they say its only a matter of time before shell kick my butt. First, I don't think she can kick my butt (I'm 5'11, 170 lbs and work out a lot and shes about 5'5'' 120 lbs) and second she being older is just good at this point: the stuff she does in bed . I think my friends are probably just jealous cause she's hot... Or do they have a point?

You said you don't want to marry her, okay then what is the point? If she is 24 she may be thinking in that direction. Does she realize there is no future in your relationship? All that aside, the important thing is that YOU like her. Who cares what your friends think, they aren't the ones dating her.

I floored a guy once (6'3, 238lbs) who came up behind me as a joke. He didn't know what the hell hit him. Are you with her because you have feelings for her? Does she have feelings for you? I'm sure if she really likes you, kicking your but would be the last thing she'd want to do. Unless of course, she discovers you're just playing and using her. Then, Id' run. If I were you.

I can't tell you how many times I've had guys (or girls) who were smaller than me telling me they could take me down because they're a black belt in whatever. Never happened. You can break all the boards you want and do all your moves with great grace, but have you ever been hit so many times that your face was covered in blood on the outside and completely swollen on the inside? Ever been hit so many times that you just don't feel punches anymore? Have you ever done those things to someone else? If you haven't, don't tell me you can kick anyone's ass just because you have a ****ing black belt. I used to do that stuff a few years ago. Then I got into my first real fight and realized it meant ****.

It's the kind where you learn to deal with pain, not where you pull fancy moves in the hopes that you'll avoid any major hit. As far as the OP, I'm willing to bet this is a classic case of trolling.

This really is not what Martial Arts are about. The whole point of MASTERING a Martial Art is to create an atmosphere where you can successfully avoid use of it. To deflect the Tiger with the Feather. To deflect the ton with the three ounces..... ....or is a sign of blood the only measure of Power you can think of? As to the OP's post...? You may have a point.

Drop your average martial arts student in a rough ghetto and they will get eaten alive while a person with real fighting experience on the street will be able to survive.

You assume that people follow a uniform behavior and mentality, enough so that the philosophical basis behind your martial art will apply to just about everybody. You believe you can read anyone and beat them mentally instead of physically. This may be true for most people, but I know that it doesn't work for some people like me. I'm so chaotic that I can't even predict myself, and if I can't do that then how do you think you can do that? That's why I think as soon as you start analyzing yourself or your opponent and start predicting what you or others will do, then you allow others to do the same for you. I just like to circumvent all that and give into chaos so you can't work anything you know mentally. As long as I've followed that mindset, I've never been or felt defeated. You go up against someone who wants to see blood no matter what, and you're not going to avoid a fight with them.

Even if she's this strong as you are saying, still that's not a reason for you not to be with her, it's pathetic. I'm pretty much like you, I always date older girls and mostly cause they're hot. Dating older girls is awesome and at the same time shows skill cause convincing girls about age not being a problem is very hard. And wow, 6 years man you are good! The most I've gone is 3 years older than me. I must bravo seriously. Just don't listen to your friends, that karate talk is just crap cause they are jealous while you shouldn't worry about the age, trust me if you do you'll regret it. I mean Ashton Kutcher is 24 years younger than Demi Moore, Halle Barry is 10 years older than her partner, Sarah Palin is 8 months younger etc. If the movie stars and VIPs don't mind, you shouldn't either. I tell that to myself sometimes.

YES. Whether that is sexual or you just play the game of life does not matter. 4. Are you happy with how things are going? YES. 5. Is she happy? I HOPE SO. Take your friends' opinion into consideration but as long as the answer to the above 5 questions is YES there will be no regrets.

Second off having a gf is so much nicer then not having one so if your not seriouse about her you can keep dating her just be sure your honest about the way you feel. You can also move on when you feel its time if your just dating for the heck of it. Finaly you should probably watch out if she brags about being some martial artist girls like that will some times try to punch you in the nuts and it won't be a fair fight because shes a girl and she'll be sneaky about it and not like you can really fight back full force any ways

While they may razz him about her being a "martial arts" expert, I'm sure that he loves "basking in the glow."

So is that wrong now? Do all 24 year old girls want to get married right away with every guy they see? I doubt that. And yes I like the fact she looks good and I like that other guys look at her. Maybe Ive bragged a little about it too - so maybe that makes me a sinner or immoral to some but I dont care. Tho when two guys who are my friends and I respect say these things... just wanted a second opinion. Havent been with an older girl before. And I dont believe in martial arts. I see that some here do and some here dont. I only know that I think it would be strange and a bit scary to be with a girl who could kick my butt, thats all.
