You also grow more frightened of dying alone

Really? That hasn't happened to me yet. Should I start being sad and afraid now, because I'm over 35? Damn, and here I was feeling joyful -- I should have known that because I'm 37 I wasn't allowed to do that!

I think intelligence, confidence and ultimately what you do in life is the most important... for me anyway.

I've been putting more emphasis on "doing" lately myself. There is no better gauge of what you VALUE in life than how you spend your time. How you SAY you spend your time, or how you think you SHOULD spend your time don't amount to a hill of beans. You may say you don't "value" TV, but if you watch 4 hours of it a night you certainly do. You may say you "value" cooking, but if you never cook then it seems to me like you don't (or you value other things more).

Take two guys who are equally below average in looks.. one is a surgeon.. the other one is a night-shift maintenance guy in a Wal-Mart... which one will I connect with.. I will go with the more educated guy.. no doubt.

Hey, you can be educated AND be working at Walmart. You would be surprised. I had to temporarily take a job waiting tables after getting my masters in chemistry because I had no money coming in, and no mom or dad willing to pay my rent in the meantime.
