Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and joined to get some advice about a long distance relationship I've just started. Who better to get advice from, then those who have been there! Here goes...

I live in Orlando and she lives in Tampa. We met on facebook about 3 months ago and have been talking ever since. She came up to see me last weekend, and we met for the first time. We connected right away and things were great, and have been since. Now here is the dilemma:

The first time we met I just wanted to see if we connected, and we did. I'm going to see her next weekend in Tampa. I've done a little research on LDR's and have heard to label the relationship from the start, and to also find out right away if there is a chance of relocating on either part. Since we are only meeting for the second time in person, and really just getting to know each other, I don't want to seem too pushy or rushing. At the same time, I want to make sure we are on the same page, and aren't wasting each other's time with something that will never be in the future.

So I guess my questions are: Should I ask her what she is expecting to get out of the relationship? Should I talk about putting a label on it, exclusive, non-exclusive? Should I bring up the topic of relocating this soon? Please help, don't want to scare her off, but want to know if this could really go somewhere! Never been in an LDR before, so every advice and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks so much!

Don't push it right now - don't put a label on it, etc.

However, you can glean some info by having those long getting to know each other talks.

Ask her about her job, and the follow up would be something about if she would find it difficult to relocate. At this point you can state your perspective about that as well. See if your answers match up.

Ask about her family and friends. While she talks about them you can steer the conversation to answers about leaving them as well or how strong her ties are there.

She is getting involved in an LDR as well and usually women will only do that if they can see a possibility of it going somewhere. So she may have already thought about the "what ifs" in case she found someone she really connected with.

Good Luck!

Thank you for the advice! I never looked at it from that perspective. It just seems very confusing based off of what the "experts" say, and what you and others have told me.

Thanks again.
